Germanys biggest stationary engine rally Unterwellenborn Part 5-6

In a rhythm from two years the stationary engine fans from Germany meets Unterwellenborn for the biggest stationary engine rally in Germany.
The exhibitors comes from the Nederlands, France,Switzerland and Germany and present her engines from the 1880s up to the late 1960s years.
You can see the engines powers up some saws, pumps and generators.

A fantastic gathering of beautiful engines, but how are they allowed to run those engines indoors? Don’t Germans suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning? Their safety fencing is virtually non existent and would not be tolerated in the UK. It is interesting that most of the health and safety regulations imposed on Great Britain by the EU are totally ignored on the continent! However, as I said at the beginning, a superb show of old engines.

Sehr schöne Maschinen dabei. Allerdings finde ich es irgendwie komisch dass die meisten so unglaublich sauber/poliert sind, als wenn diese gerade vom Montageband gefallen wären. Ich vermisse irgendwie etwas Ruß oä. an der Oberfläche die bezeugt, dass die Maschine Jahrzehntelang in einer Fabrikhalle in Betrieb war.

nope its a diesel and it was common back then to use a burning wick or sliver of wood to first ignite the diesel, making startup much easier, or they actually heated up the cylinder with a torch
