- Yamaha RX-V475 V575 INTERNAL ERROR NO MODEL ERROR FIX!
I encountered this error on my receiver, and found little help (often wrong help) on the internet. After tracking down the service manual, and figuring out a step the manual oddly skipped, I figured out the fix.
Fortunately it is easy and does not require taking the cover off and soldering anything to reset the unit, it only requires you to push a few buttons.
This is for the RX-V475 and RX-V575, though I suspect this may work on the units "requiring to solder a temporary jumper" to fix. These models include:
RX-V673
RX-A773
RX-A720
RX-A820
HTR-6065
HTR-7065
HTR-606
If it works for you on any of these models, please share your results below in the comments.
Also, here is a link to the latest firmware update for this receiver:

Here is the service manual:

0:55 Enter programming mode
1:35 Set your model number
3:00 Reboot - Навчання та стиль
I had issues with a RX-V475 , saw a reccomindation to unplug the radio for at least 1 hour then plug back in and hold the off/on button for 30 seconds to reset the radio and it fixed my issue.
Yeah, that was my first try, but it didn't work on this issue unfortunately.
Thank you it works on my RX-V475 (firmware 1.34)
Thank you very much! I repair INTERNAL ERROR on my rx-v373 using NO PROTECT menu. But the buttons are not the same. To enter NO PROTECT menu I holded TONE CONTROL and STRAIGHT + POWER. Also the same PROGRAM LEFT RIGHT to go trough the menu to 22.SW:PCB. To set SW:MODEL also press STRAIGHT and RADIO button to choose model.
Thank you for the walkthrough. Easy fix!
Glad it helped!
Just did it for mine worked perfectly thank you very much
Fantastic 🎉
Thank you so so much :)
Glad it helped!
Extremely helpful, THANK YOU!!!
I have the RX-V585 and the USB, Bluetooth and WiFi functionality does not work at all. Could it be as a result of the unit thinking that it is a different model as per your video and if I run through the procedure as explained would it reset my receiver and remove all of my existing settings?
I think the 585 is different and this procedure won't work. I think the menu choices are different. You could try updating the firmware & look through the troubleshooting procedure in the manual.
Both can be found here:

Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Juste wow merciiii beaucoup
Thank your sir for your advice.i have the same internal error.i followed to you ther internal error gone.but after main power disconnected error coming back again.can you please advice.
Sorry, I missed your question. It seems to me this error will arise after the unit has been unplugged for a while. Reset it, then leave it plugged in for a while, or even leave it playing, then see if the problem returns.
@Audio Tom, I have a Yamaha RX-V567. Every time I switch it on, it Displays "Mains on" and switches it off. I tried to Factory reset it to INIT----ALL and then Power off. When I Power it on again, it is the same issue and INIT would be back to CANCEL. Any thing I am missing to successfully factory reset the device ?
Sounds like a short or internal failure -it's protecting itself.First thing is to disconnect everything from the receiver and see if the problem goes away. If not, it's internal, then you go through and unplug one internal module at a time to see if the problem goes away to narrow it down, but you must know what you are unplugging so you don't cause more damage. Look for damaged usb port, other jacks, something fallen into the unit, pepsi syndrome...
@@AudioTomReviews Thanks so much for your advice !
Hi sir can you give me some idea .. i have rx-v475 model my problem is surround effects are distorted and crackling sound .but in direct mode it works fine i already replaced the DSP ic but the issue is still occur.. thank you sir
That's beyond my abilities to diagnose, but check your basics. Does it Happen from all inputs or just the HDMI, Does coax or optical work ok? Try to narrow it down. It sounds like a solder joint may have broken, and they are sometimes hard to spot. I have 2 videos I will publish in the next week or so with loads of bad solder joint issues. That's just one of hundreds of possibilities.
@@AudioTomReviews thank you sir all inputs also have same issue with crackling sounds.. and i also test it with optical in and direct mode has crackling sound .. thans for the idea sir🙂
While choosing surround sound, the bass sound of fight scenes not working. The fight bass sound comes only in the center speaker. How to fix ? Pls help me sir. Model no YHTR 3072 in
You can try a factory reset: ua-cam.com/video/N995AhmH3EI/v-deo.html
Or you could try to update the firmware: usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/rx-v385_htr-3072.html
I need your help, I have a Yamaha RX V573, it suddenly stopped working one day while functioning and when I tried turning it on it blinked a red light like it went on standby mode.I gave it for repair, they changed an ic which was short and tested it it was working fine, but when I brought it home and connected it to my speakers, it worked for nearly 5-6 min and then died again, until now it has been repaired 7-8 times but the ic gets shorted every time. I am fed up. What might be the problem? Any guidance.
The blunt reply is you need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing (or maybe they just don't care). The fried IC is a symptom, not the problem. It could be anything, capacitor, resistor, diode etc that is likely feeding or drawing too much voltage or leaking AC into a DC supply etc. It will take proper testing and investigative work to track it down.
Also, make sure none of your speakers or speaker wires are bad or shorted. That shouldn't blow anything out, but would put it into protect mode until the problem is corrected.
I have a 1060 yamaha receiver stuck in straight can't change anything what can I do
Will this work on yamaha rxv 373?
Not sure, but if you try it & the menus come up exactly the same it should work
Hello sir... i have a yamaha rx-v475,sound only in direct mode...can you help me what i'm doing to do...thanks in advance...

I have rxv6A ,it says (model Dest Error). please help me on this....
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that model
@@AudioTomReviews thank you for your reply
@@DrAVRECEIVER You can try this: ua-cam.com/video/ZEm80hdotZg/v-deo.html
But I would unplug EVERYTHING from the receiver first. Dest Error could mean it is sensing a short or problem in the speakers or speaker wires etc
Hi Dear,
I am Gaurav from India.
I am having auto tripping problem in My Yahama YHT 299.
As I am turning it on it continuously switching to many functions with tik tik sound.
Once I had reset it through pressing power button +info+ tone control button same time.
that time it works. But this time I have done it multiple times and the results were same
Kindly assist me.
Thanks & Regards,
It could be an internal failure, but many times it is external. First thing to do is disconnect everything including the speakers. If the problem is still there, there is an internal failure or short. Make sure nothing fell inside, check that a USB port isn't damaged (common). If the problem goes away with everything disconnected, then connect one component at a time and see if the problem returns. Most common problem is bad speaker wire or bad speaker.
Please I need help
Mine is the Yamaha rxv385 , procedure don't work. Info button take me to USB update instead
The RXVx85 series has different software. I'm not sure on that one, here is the service manual, you can try digging through it. The menu is not the same choices as mine. elektrotanya.com/yamaha_rx-v385_htr-3072_sm.pdf/download.html#dl
same here, model v385 and internal error problem, but i fixed mine through update and hard reset
I have a rxv 475, i switch on but automatically switch off after 4 or 5 second
It's protecting itself. Unplug all speaker wires from the back of the unit and see if it will turn on. If it does you have a bad speaker or speaker wire, if it doesn't then you have an internal problem
@@AudioTomReviews thanks sir
no display of speaker
