Gorgeous! Correction, these cars absolutely were available in the US at the dealer in US spec. Some people did import their own.
My first car purchase in 1975 was a beautiful 1967 300SE coupe in dark blue with saddle leather interior. It had a four-speed stick shifter on the floor and drove great. It cost me only $4,250!

My dad had one of these from new , he used to let me sit on his lap and let me “drive” 😊. I’ve never been lucky enough to have one of my own but I love that car and the memories ❤

So gorgeous! I will have a classic Mercedes one of these days. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore. Now they have planned obsolescence and now there's no drain plug on the transmission to change the fluid. Used to be the best production cars ever.

Why did some 300se's have "Automatic" under the "300 se" on the turnk lid and some did not? Was it dependent on year?
Whoever restored, it is never going to reclaim close to what they invested in it

When MB was built by proud engineers. Today, modern MB is just a vulgarity built by accountants, to a price.

A vulgarity? Hyperbolic much? You've obviously never been in a new S-Class. They're more comfortable, safer, quicker and handle MUCH better than anything from the 60s. Are they as classically beautiful? No, but they're beautiful in their own way.

@@mikewingert5521thanks for the general hating on MB owners. My 11 year old 200k mile E Class is still running beautifully with no rattles or shakes. Best car I’ve ever owned.

I would rather have that than a new Bentley or Rolls, more class, and better built, this will increase all the time, not like the Rolls or Bentley
