To quote the short couch goblin "best 7.5/10 game"

My main problem with DD2 is that basically all the enemies already existed from the first game. To compare to monster hunter, some enemies are reused, but still add a bunch of new critters to turn into a hat.
And because the enemies aren’t threatening and die instantly, it kinda feels empty. Which is ironic because the enemy density is absurd to the point where I can’t walk 5 steps without tripping over another group of enemies.
I do like the pawns though. I haven’t had any issues with my main pawn, but have seen other pawns acting goofy. I wish better games would build on the idea.
At the very least pawns sometimes leading you during a quest is more interesting than the average quest marker giving you the answer in most games. Not to imply DD2 has a good quest log.

it would be like if somone tried to blackmail you by threatening to do something to the guy from the seven eleven you go to the most.
or if at your funeral they had your 1st grade teacher stand up and give a speech .
like ,technically you spent the most time with that guy who's cibiucle was next to the coffee maker.

I totally get the point about the Dunkey video. I can't help but compare his videos for Content Warning vs his vid on Phasmophobia. They're really similar games at a bird's eye view, but Phasmophobia has a structure/gameplay loop that lent itself way more effectively to a memorable video with actual jokes because it sets goals other than "try to be funny"

I played Content Warning yesterday for the first time, and I had a blast. Granted me and the person I played with are both anxious messes. Maybe that helped.

DD2 is a solid game dragged down by baffling decision after baffling decision. Not to mention the straight lies before release and the most pretentious fanbase I've seen in a hot minute. Got called a "miscreant" and "fool" in 2024 💀

      .... Foul Knave!!! >:V
      lolol
Who would have though 390 people on a team would come up with less content than 1100 people (an actual AAA team)
and Capcom sold the game at 70+ and add piracy software which tanks performance! just embarrassing

yeah Capcom should have added a level threshold for the tutorilal type dialogues from pawns, like we are level 85 we're not going to get a thief in the party. at this point xD

The individual in the center didn't seem to understand the mechanics of DD2's Ferrystone system. Yes, having the Eternal Ferrystone behind a paywall would be bad, but even then, purchasing it would only work after you've done all of the initial legwork anyway. Remember, you need Portcrystals for those Ferrystones to go to, and you have to activate the static ones and install your own. Yes, it'd save a ton of time and gold for back-and-forth travel and make oxcarts useless for the most part, but it wouldn't break the game in the least.
You get, what, 5-10 Ferrystones from the purchase pack? That's between 50-100K gold you save, a not-insignificant sum to be sure but I've blown way more than that on non-Ferrystone items, and you'll accrue Ferrystones naturally through gameplay so you're not even saving THAT much time.
Gameplay-impacting and invasive MTX bad, forever and always, but this is almost like tipping your waitstaff versus having the store shoved in your face every pause (Ubisoft...).

Took me a while to get around to this because I saw Dragon's Dogma 1 on sale for 5 bucks and wanted to get context. And geezus christ. Keith was right. This franchise is a mess that has one redeeming quality that it underbakes the entire rest of the game to achieve. It's got a very nicely built and interconnected world... but the writing is abyssmal, the fights are tedious, the quests are infuriating and badly signposted, and just everything else about it is mediocre at best. And from what I've seen of both Limealicious and Keith's playthroughs of 2, everything is the same. They spent ten years to achieve what Coral Island and Stardew Valley perfected, while actually having an entire *GAME* built up around that one key gimmick. Every single redeeming quality I found in DD:DA, I remembered that freakin'.. Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing did better.
My breakpoint was the Chamber of Apprehension in the Everfall. As I told my brother... I'd rather fight Furious Rajang in me pants with a Greatsword. And I think I may go do just that. Keith's tirade on microtransactions in Capcom games, also fairly on point.

I will not stand for this quiplash slander! The NLSS got like 5 years of gold out of that sucker. I mean, it's awful to actually play, but to watch? Oh baby.
