Fun fact: There is a saying the Habsburgs used: bella gerant alii, tu felix austria nube. Meaning literally: other may wage war, you lucky austria, marry. And thats what they did with their kids. Making connections and treaties left right and center. They were usually already engaged in early childhood. There is a reason that almost all monarchys in europe and even the russians had a Habsburg sitting there :) Its one of the little things you learn in school in austria that kind of stays with you forever.
playing as Byzantines with a mongol custom character is amazing. I think you can world conquest in one lifetime. I did that custom character as khazaria and I’ve taken 75% of the world in one lifetime and I’m tribal and wasted 17 years getting strong enough to form the mongols while as the Byzantines you can do it super fast
I started as a Somali count in Mogadishu. Formed the Empire of Ajuraan and now im trying to unite the Indian Empire. It’s a fun start because there’s a lot of county rulers everywhere.
@@abdansyakuro1105 just buy the claims for Austria and Steyermark with help of the learning lifestyle or the Pope and sway the Kaiser, so you can ask him to give those titles to you. Your next charakter should get a hook via the intrigue lifestyle and there you go.
I didn't know for awhile there was actual strategy behind CKIII when I started playing, so I would play it like I did sims: Marry off my character and have large families, then marry off the children to other families. It seemed to work, because I managed to create the Baltic Empire that way while playing Poland. 😅
One good mention is the Jewish Rabbinic Vassal in Khazaria in 867. There is only 1 county with that faith and culture in the whole game. You start as feudal as well
A start i also really enjoy is as harald finehair because norse starts are always pretty cool and forming the kingdom of norway with him is also special
The khan seems really nice, I do like to start at 867, gives you way more power in the latter years (if done well), will try this one out soon, just ending my game XD
Yess! Kernow representation! Restoring Dumnonia is THE most fun kingdom to make (so clearly you have good taste) and I appreciate its representation here 😊
@genovayork2468 I bet your parents despise the fact that they brought you into this world. Just a miserable little grammar police officer. Do more with your life, brother.
Just formed the archduchy of austria and got aeiou&me yesterday. Wasnt too bad. I just used the hoe throne to form bavaria, gave myself austria, surrendered a claim on the bavarian throne. Then austia was my primary title, and just went from there
I took the Ghazza Count start with a custom Norse character and worked my way all the way up to forming the Outremer Empire (converted to Catholicism just to create it then quickly went back to my custom religion) with the Kingdom of Jerusalem as my economic base and powerhouse. Felt good to crush the Caliphate once and for all.
I'd say becoming the count to the west of mazdarana in 1066 is pretty fun too. You first are very far from your culture land, seljuks are strong but then fall apart and to take the decision to form the kingdom of rum you need to invade the byzantines and i doubt you can become an empire to do that.
Playing as Cornwall is a very fun start, Harold somehow kept England and in 2 Lifetimes I was able to form the Kingdom of Cornwall with the special De Jure gain of Wessex & Hwicce but also with most of England except for the north (Lancaster, Deira/York, and Northumbria) but also with Brittany and Gwynedd too Then after I formed the 3 Kingdoms of England, Cornwall & Brittany the First Crusade happened and we actually won it with my brother getting the Kingdom, I made it into a Feudal Elective and elected the brother who I was playing before's son (the brother died) as the heir and I died but I just had to get the Kingdom of England back, which was easy Now I'm trying to form the Outremer, I think I have all of the territory, I just need the fame but I can't tell, I have also pressed my claim on West Francia and when I vassalized myself to the Byzantines I also picked up Pontus so I'm over both Vassal limit and realm size for the Kingdom level, even with all of my direct Vassals being Dukes
I'm playing on Console, they updated it and it fixed the crashing, but it also ended up not allowing me to establish Traditions, overall a good update but needs a tweak to fix the Tradition thing
- Harald Tanglehair of Vikin. You can form Norway fairly easily, and from there you can challenge yourself to form the North Sea Empire. - I forget his name, but the Duke of Samogitia in 1066. You can form Lithuania and the Baltic Empire, reform the Vidilist faith, and upgrade to feudalism. You can then holy war into Russia, Finland, and Volga-Ural without much issue. (Also, invite an HRE claimant to your court, convert him to reformed Vidilism, and conquer the HRE for him. Then watch it collapse. I’ve done it and it’s freaking great. - I haven’t done this one, but playing as a custom Anglo-Saxon Catholic ruler in 1066 Crimea under the Byzantines. Historically after the Norman conquest, some Anglo-Saxons fled to the region. From there you can build up to taking over Zaporizhia (automatically renamed to New England), and forming a hybrid culture with the local Cumans to create the New English.
Loved Eadgar startdate, Norway conquered England and I managed to be elected as soon as he died at 27 years old. welp, mission saving Wessex dynasty successfully achieved
I always saw Zoroastrianism revived as the 1066 duke before the persian intermezzo update. But if it didnt change in the new update, the count of Gilan is the only independent mazdayan character in 867. I once revived zoroastrianism as him because he was the only zoroastrian i could find before the update on 867 and I did enjoy it. Good suggestions brother, keep it up!
I've just restored zoroastrian Persian Empire with the Bavandid-Sassanid dynasty... the most difficult campaign I've ever dealt with, took me 300 years to subjugate Iran. And the Mongols didn't arrive yet, because I'm in the 1100s! I have no idea whether I'll survive or not xD
Foulques of Touraine is difficult in the beginning. The surrounding Duchy of Champagne has a claim on your county. I just had a play through where I inherited Anjou and Saumur from my brother and conquered Brittany and Normandy. Fabricated hook on the pope and conquered England when they were weak. I tried to use an abduct scheme to capture the King of England and win the war early, but I made a mistake by abducting him before I declared war. Ended up just executing him thereby leaving his young daughter to inherit the throne.
You can complete AEIOU achievement without any murders or shady scheming. You just need good relations with pope, buy claims with faith, and befriend the emperor so he will transfer every claim. You can also try to become regent, and revoke titles from vassals.
A really silly strat as the Borjigin kid is if you go get tanistry you will have a very pleasant surprise in a few hundred years. Set the foundations for something glorious
I played as Edgar Ætheling and was given the duchy of Mercia by Harald Hardrada after he defeated Godwinson and then Robert Curthose of Normandy. I proceeded to gobble up lands of my fellow vassals and managed to get elected King of England after one of Hardrada’s sons was murdered through my scheme
There's a really nice on i did as a zayidi muslim in yemen and i ended up completely changing all the Muslims to zayidi and conquering everything from Morrocco to italy and Constantinople to Ethiopia
I've recently play CK3 again, and does anyone feel the AI's been improved? I've just invaded West Francia as Ireland and won, then a bunch of French vassals wants their independence (this is normal, I think). But then Alba like smelling blood in the water or something, attacked me with a bunch of their alliances. And then the Northern Army came. All this while I was on a Tour de France, lol.

didn't know the cornwall one... that DOES sound appealing. Gotta keep it in mind for the future. Will be a while tho. As I have quite some campaigns planned already which will probably take up my gaming time for most of the year already xD
My favorites are Salian, Makedon, and Piast. I enjoy restoring the HRE. Piast I like less as you start off tribal but it’s fun forming Poland as them. Makedon is cool, the starting ear easy i easy to beat with just MAAs and using attrition + disembarkment penalty. The Varangian adventures do get old quickly, and they’re not hard to beat if you make archer MAAs and use disembarkment to win. I hate Saloman of Hungary, both playing as a vassal in the HRE and having to play as the starting emperor. He’s a king but there’s dukes and even counts with a larger personal domain size. Won his stupid claimant war for him… only to be called to war again two month later.
why does everyone pick the worst hardest most annoying starts and call them the best why cant anyone put out a video for someone just learning the game or semi new even. It would be nice for someone to put out a video that shows decently strong duchies or counties that a newer player would have the slightest chance in hell of getting anywhere on. LOL
