May be unpopular but "If the South Would've Won" is a fun Hank song, praising southern culture.
I did that one about four years ago or so. Loved it--was hilarious, as only Hank can do.
Hank had a close friend in New York that was murdered for the small amount of cash he had on him. He mentions it in his song Country Boy Can Survive..
$37
You have no idea how famous this man was in the 70's & the 80"s & still is with his fan base!
@terri hodgin Well I kinda have some idea.... ;-)
I love being from the south, I get compliments on my southern hospitality, we hold doors open for others, we say ma'am and sir, we respect others.
Stationed in Ft Jackson SC in army … love my southern folks….. they sure win my heart
I LOVE BEING FROM THE GREAT COUNTRY OF TEXAS.
Thanks to you and Joey for giving us this gem from Hank Jr.
Love the feel of this one! I grew up in the country and moved to the big city at 18, but there's just something about a cowboy hat and boots! True country pride just stays with you.
I'm born and raised in NYC, and he's completely right. I wanna get the hell out of here!
@pinkkfloydd What borough are you in?
@@RockN2Country Brooklyn, born and raised.
Mr. Weather Man.... It's All in Alabama(about his fall down Ajax Mountain) O.D.'d in Denver, The Coalition (funny & spot on for this day & age!) Kaw-Liga, Ballad of Hank Williams (also funny) Attitude Ajustment (funny) & sooo many more!! I 💜 me some Hank Jr!!
Since you like the classics you should totally check out George Jones' " Who's gonna fill their Shoes"
It's now on my list. :-)
Yes it’s a classic. Also George jones choices if you haven’t done it I can’t remember
@@brianmerinar1033 Yesss, one of King George I 's best songs.
I have to part company with Hank on this one. I love Dixie, born and lived all my life in Mississippi. But when the Good Lord calls my name I want to go to Heaven.
Here's another fun fact for you, Jr.'s fathers name, known as "Hank Williams," is actually Hiram King "Hank" Williams. There was never an actual Hank Williams. He also went under the moniker "Luke The Drifter" because the record label believed his music was too morbid and sad during the early stages of his career. As for Hank Jr.'s drinking days, he notes that he's in "the wine and cigar stage of life now." His wife, Mary Jane Williams, and yes, that's her actual name, clarifies, "it's been a long time since I woke up to a Jim Beam bottle on the front lawn." #Legend
Here's another recommendation, "Too Dumb For New York City, Too Ugly For L.A." by Waylon Jennings
That's good stuff about Hank and his wife, especially the part about not waking up to a bottle of Jim Beam ON THE FRONT LAWN!! Haha!! Great mind picture. As for Waylon's song, with that title I'm moving it to the top of the list. Thanks for the recommendation!
Hank Jr. “WeatherMan” is awesome
Hank had to sing his dads songs up until he said hell no & by time he became his own songs he became even more famous.
This song is so true. I grew up on 2.5 acres on a paved country road. Played in the swamp as a kid and traded wild onions, dandelions and pinecones with my brother in our make-believe "country stores".
My sister moved to NY to work for Martha Stewart over a decade ago and we visited a couple times. I couldn't stand it! Made me crazy and sick with all that nasty concrete. That air even smells different and feels thicker. So oppressive.
Agree on all points, except I love NYC! Love the country, and love the city, so I'm good just about anywhere.
Hank was at the time having big shows in a lot of places .But had a concert in New York and not a big crowd as they were not big country then .so he sang this in this song.
Why would you think that New York city wouldn't be Hell to someone that lives in the country and loves fishing and hunting?
It would be hell for someone who loved the country, but Hank spent time in NYC so he had some enjoyment there, if only for some of the people and performances before he got the heck out.
Ever heard the saying, "nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there"?
Hank spent time in a lot of places he wouldn't want to spend eternity in. So have I. Doesn't mean I didn't have a good time there, it just means that I don't want to be there for a long period! When Hank was in those places he had money and fame and was sheltered from what the majority of folks that live there are. Staying at five star hotels with room service and round the clock security while waiting to play a gig or make an appearance doesn't mean you wouldn't think that sucked when where you want to be is on a lake or out in the woods.
Love the reaction and of course the song from one of those Southern Girls from Alabama.
Appreciate it skin. Country is all i listen to. Bocephus sure is loving the reviews brother!
LOL!! Love the Bocephus reference!! (Of course it was on his strap in the very last pic I used in the reaction vid.)
He calls himself Rockin Randall Hank in one of his songs .
Grew up with country, first saw Dolky Parton on the old Porter Wagonner show. May have some recommendations later, but welcome to what I refer to as my “Country Club.
Dolly btw, I am 5 years older than Hank.
Love this tune and love all three Hanks Sr Jr and 3 ROCK!!
I love this song and you are one of the better reactors for country music
@Jennifer Lidie Thank you for the kind words---you humble me!!
This is great! Great reaction!
Travis Trit 10' Tall and Bulletproof

Hey Frank, I did that one a few weeks back. Here ya go. ua-cam.com/video/TFvwCZe8PhI/v-deo.html
Good review brother. This song is a classic with now a fresh take. Good choice and good work on the analysis
Thank you--glad you liked it. Hank is the man.
He still drinks I was front row two years ago and he was drinking moonshine
@TN .Outdoorsman Well that must have been a helluva show!! Happy 4th of July, and welcome to the channel!
It was at Brimstone Paragon and it was
I love that song ps I live in the country
I feel the same Hank
Been to NY & La but my home & heart is TN & yea NY & prices is stupid compared to peace & land in Dixie!!!
The trouble with NYC is it takes too long to get out to the woods. I live on the prairie in the upper midwest, but, there's a little bit of Diixie here too.
Been to NYC a couple times, bagels, cheesecake and Peking Duck. Other than that y’all can keep NYC.
I’ll take Biloxi.
Hey brother Hypeman man here on to fb another great video
Thanks, Jerry! I hope your last few days of summer are going well!!
@@RockN2Country they are ty....when u get time can u add the brad paisley song america Saturday night pleaseee thanks man have a great day
Lol 😂 watching this from the beginning, I was looking forward to seeing your reaction, when he got to the NY part. I’ve been through there several times. Some of the nicest people I’ve met. The traffic you can keep lol. I’m from Mississippi, it’s not that congested.
He had some bad experiences in NYC. It IS the polar opposite, of what he likes. Really, small, out of the way, small towns. He does do alot of concerts in NY, but UPSTATE, LOL
Upstate is absolutely country territory!!
We tune instruments to this song at church! Lol
@Robert Jones Alright, now THAT’S funny!! Ya gotta love it!
@@RockN2Country congregation so old they have no clue!! Lol
Here's a good funny one for you Hank Jr The American way
@Ronald Sears Just put it on the list, but please be patient since the list is long! :-)
Give a listen to Hand Me Down and Heaven Can’t Be Found. Both by Hank jr. Well worth a listen
He also references NY in “A Country Boy Can Survive”. Negatively of course. Great song if you haven’t heard it.
Yeah, the north takes a few hits in some songs, but we deserve some of it. ;-)
I love your reactions bro! We got to get some more hank Williams Jr on the channel! I think a good one would be a Come an go blues an Allman brothers cover he did
Perfect timing for your Hank request, as Hank was in cue to be put up today!! Thanks for the kind comments, too!
@@RockN2Country Thanks man awesome!
He was called rockin randell
ROCKIN RANDALL
Best Review EVER!!!! 😍🤭😁😂🥰
❤️❤️ Sweet Home Alabama!!❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️🐘🐘ROLL TIDE🐘🐘❤️❤️❤️
FUN FACT.......
*Hank Jr was born in Louisiana but was raised in Alabama. After going on tour for a few years, he wanted to build a home and have roots. He looked at a map and picked the town that was half way between Nashville and Montgomery... Cullman, Al. He still has a home and property in Cullman, and a hunting lodge in Troy, Al with many, manny acres of Hunting land. 😁
@Sabrina King bringing the 411 this morning!! Thanks for that, and I love your passion for Bama (and of course there's gonna be a Roll Tide in many of your posts--ha!!).
@RockN2Country You know I have to throw in a little humor and keep things interesting 😂
Dude, his friend was murdered in NYC
Oh that actually happened to him. I thought it was just a lyric and not real
None of the three Hanks first names are Hank. Sr.’s is Hiram & Hank 3’s is Shelton.
@Paul Smith Good thing the girls aren't named that. Ha!!
React to hank Williams jr hand me down
Ugh, there are so many great songs by Hank Jr. to recommend. Such as "Blues Man" and "All in Alabama" just to name a couple. Both of those were written based on his life.
HANK WILLIAMS JR BOCEPHUS # 1
Hank Jr Kolija. Probably misspelled it
What you took for a metaphor he may have meant. He could and very likely did shake Jim beam Jr s hand.
Hank said that he had a best friend in NY city that was killed by a knife
And that's actually where part of "A country boy can survive" came from
U should check out the fireman by George strait
Don you need to react to hank Williams jr ii live in Nashville there finally but hank Williams jr in the country music hall of fame this year the news is all over Nashville about hank go in the country music hall of fame today in Nashville his song hand me down would be a good one to react to hank Williams 3 on background vocals on this song

Why’d you start the song without headphones on?🙄
You should do drink more beer Rodney Carrington
You don’t know about a lot of the good songs because the politics in Asheville won’t let radio stations play

Thumbs down for the video but the song gets more than just a thumbs up. No one likes NYC that's from the South. Stop listening to any Hank Sr or Jr songs!
