2:00:03 I've taken to sorting my inventory in reverse alphabetical. You still get low condition torches listed first, but there's never anything else mixed in with them. If you drop from inventory as well, nothing is ever scared or attracted by the drop and the next best torch is guaranteed to be automatically highlighted next, so you can just quickly click 'drop' and then 'use' without hesitation.

I watch gotmilkanot do some ridiculous challenges and I think they use a variation of this: Default sorting + keyboard shortcuts to "back up" to the end of the inventory. I think it requires an extra keypress to select each torch, but an advantage is you don't have to keep "setting up" the proper sort after a save/load.
I mean, it's literally one click on the alphabetical icon to reverse it from default after loading the game, which is exactly the same amount of work as setting it to sort by condition. 😂
@@Pest789 Yeah I always forget to do that with my version, which leads to almost losing my torch the first time I go to chain. I should experiment with all 3 versions, pick one, and then get in the habit of setting it up as soon as I load into a game.
@@ArchimedesLP Yes, 1 keypress per "drop" and "use" and scrolling/navigating down to the torches can be annoying when there are too many items in inventory. Reverse alphabetical sorting as Pest789 suggested sounds good, I'll have to try that out.

Maybe you could have used a fire hardened arrow to wake the FM bear and then shot him with your good arrow
Oh that's a really good idea! I always forget those exist...
They are the best source of archery points in the game.
I like them for Ptarmigan and rabbits too cause I'm terrible with rocks
