- Dre isn’t JUST a producer....he was/is a World CLASS DJ! He knows how to work a crowd from behind the tables...you just don’t lose that!
- I LOVE 9th Wonder...but I am AGHAST that he forgot to mention what I consider the FIRST modern produced hip hop album : “No One Can Do It Better”, by The D.O.C.....that album is STILL a banger, and STILL ahead of its time....it was the first album, for me, that sounded DIFFERENT, a complete departure from what had come before...the difference between SOC and NCDIB is stark to me...

I love these talks so much. 9th is one of my fav humans ever. And any of them could bring out someone from the camp to do a verse of a deceased person in their camp. If Snoop came out and said “Cruisin’ down the street in my six-four…” shit would be over.
So DRE is going to have The Up In Smoke Avengers on his side to call on plus 50 and 2pac songs . That’s nasty 🔥🔥🔥
Dre's got legendary albums with legendary acts like NWA, Eazy, The D.O.C, Snoop, Pac, Em, and 50...whole albums. Along with big hits from legends like Mary, Eve, The Firm and Kendrick. Did I just hear a room full of hip hop and battle rap head say that ACTUALLY WRITING doesn't give JD more steam in a verzuz??? Idc what record Diddy has, the fact that he has nothing to do with the production or writing of ANY of them (for the most part) automatically lowers how well they'd do in a battle for me. As far as I'm concerned all Diddy did was cut a check majority of his career.
If we looking at it from a true hip hop perspective yes. If you looking at it like “who’s name is associated to the better hits” puffy wins. Idk if I explained that correctly
Not really. Whether he wrote it produced it or not if it’s his song it’s his song. It only really comes down to the actual songs and if you can perform them well enough to win over the crowd. I don’t see how JD wins in that setting
