Fynbos as a unique Cape heathland

Ray Specht was Professor of Botany at the University of Queensland who published extensively on heathlands and related shrublands (mostly mediterranean type shrublands). He visited us in the Cape twice and a number of us contributed to many of his publications, notably the two volumes on Heathlands.
Professor Eugene Moll retired to Cape Town from the University of Queensland in 2002 and currently an honorary staffer at the University of the Western Cape. Previously three years as Director, Southern African Wildlife College, ~20 years at UCT in the Botany Dept., and ~10 years with SANBI at the Natal Herbarium.
