    I think we can end all these verteporfin trials right now!!! Joe that’s not only a mutant donor you have but also a mutant scar closure. Not only was the final scar pencil thin but it’s now imperceptible to the naked eye under the harshest of lighting. It also shows that less is more when it comes to FUE for donor scars. Thanks for sharing. 🙏

    I know there's a lot of great hair transplant doctors out there but it seems like Hasson and Wong are two of the best. Even in harsh light, you can barely see your scar and IMO, to the regular everyday person who doesn't know you had a hair transplant, they would thing you never lost your hair. The saying seems to be the thicker the hair, the better the results but you have thin and fine hair and your results are just amazing (yes I know you had 10K grafts total over the years). Thanks for your videos, they are a great source of knowledge for us people who are contemplating getting a hair transplant.

    Anyone in your place would have wanted to have a friend like Dr. Wong, and I think Dr. Wong would have wanted to have a friend like you, Joe. Best

    Simply incredible!! Consider how short your hair is you dont even notice it until you do the comb through. Even then can hardly see anything. From where you started i believe a norwood 6 and you have close to a full head of hair now especially at your age, i would say you have won!

    I couldn't see anything on the back or your left side but just a little bit on your right side. Pretty incredible that you've had 7 FUT.

    It looks great, you can't see the scar at all (and the scar didn't look that bad with your head shaved). I need to get this done, I have an old HT scar like that, I definitely want this done when time and money allow.

    I've undergone a total of 8 procedures: 4 strip and 4 FUE, with 2 involving FUT repair due to my poor healing with scar tissue. Unfortunately, my first 4 FUTs left me with 1cm thick scars ear to ear, among the worst I've seen online without sounding dramatic. I strongly advise anyone considering a hair transplant to reconsider, but if necessary, start with a small FUE procedure to gauge how your scalp heals. If I could go back, I'd follow this advice myself.
    Great video Joe, hope you're doing well my man 👍

    That’s a lot of strips!
    For so many, your scar was nice and thin. You must have a flexible scalp?
    I’ve had 2 and both times the scar stretched out, more the second time. I’m too scared to have a third now.

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому

      My scalp wasn't so "flexible" as it was resilient. My laxity would return after each surgery to near normal. Consider FUE into the scar, it can be fantastic.

      @@hairtransplantchannel yeah I’ll have to do something. I’m only at 8 weeks post FUT #2 and I can already tell it’s going to be nasty, mainly above both ears. Feels like 5mm at a minimum. So pissed off. The back is pretty good so far. I’ll give it a full year to fully recover first and evaluate it then.
      It’s either 1. FUE into the scar, or 2. Scar revision (fut #3)…I’m heavily leaning towards the former

      @@robmac3103 don't judge your outcome till you have your outcome. You may be experiencing some donor shock and it could fill in over the next six months. IF the scar stretched to your dissatisfaction again, then yes, FUE into the scar would be the best logical option.

    It would be easier to see the after results of the grafts into the scar if you short clipper cut your hair with a number 1

    It's a shame most new surgeons are turning away from FUT. Can do a fade cut to show how your FUT scar looks ?

  • @SergeyTheBold
    @SergeyTheBold 4 місяці тому +1

    The scar is barely visible Joe. In your own estimation how many grafts do you think you still have in the donor?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому

      Hard to say. With FUE, about 1000, maybe 1300, but that might be pushing things a bit much.

    Joe what do you think of removing grafts from the hairline from a bad transplant?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому +1

      I think it's a great idea in some cases. Other cases, it makes sense for camouflage, like I had done. My hairline was high enough from my two first surgeries that Dr. Wong was able to effect my "repair" by building a new hairline in front of it. That is the only sensible thing my first surgeon did right, he didn't lower my hairline but kept it very high.

    I had two surgeries with Dr. Wong and two prior surgeries with not so competent doctors. The prior Doctors left me with bad scars which Dr Wong tried to fix but they were very low . Did Dr Wong place the hair into the scars ?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому

      Not during my first several surgeries, no. My first two surgeries before Dr. Wong left me with two scars, one higher than the other. He was able to consolidate for scars into my first strip which gave me one scar. Each subsequent surgery took out the previous scar so I've always been left with one scar since my first repair. Hair was put into the occipital region scar using FUE five years ago, which was my last surgery. The overall point of the surgery was to add some more hair to a specific region of my crown, and the FUE into the scar was an after thought as it wasn't a bad scar in the first place.

      @ChickyRx 4 місяці тому

      @@hairtransplantchannel Thanks for the information . I am in the same position you were a few surgeries ago . The crown needs more density . The 2 scars need to be joined and the hairline needs refinement. I live in miami do you feel Dr Wong is best option or do you feel there is a closer option for me ?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому

      @@ChickyRx He's of course a great option but I suggest you talk to Dr. Aron Nusbaum in Miami. He's a part of my organization and has a great eye for detail. You may not need both scars combined as FUE into scar may be a better option. Had I to do it over again, I was have had One scar removed and the second filled as that would give me a bit more hair available to be moved.

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 місяці тому

      No worries. I believe in prevention, and while I'm still relatively young my hair can continue to degrade with the sides becoming ever lower with time. I have some retrograde alopecia as well, as seen in my nape, and I don't want that to get worse either. I'm still considering oral minoxidil as well.

      @@hairtransplantchannel I'm glad to hear you're on fin. I have been in it for 15 years. I think I may get a transplant in the next 5 years. I have reduced the dosage as I got older. I tried oral minoxidil at 1.25mg per day. It made my body itch and my chest felt tight on it. I eventually stopped. Keep up the good work. I
