If they did it'd look nothing like the arcade. The arcade cab for xmen had 3 screens for an extra wide view. Another game that will never make it to mini consoles is segas time traveler, basically a dragons lair type game but done with holograms. Seeing that in action back in the day was mindblowing and would pretty much still be today.
Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted an Arcade Machine. only problem is it takes up space and it's a real electric guzzler. Seeing these is a real treat for the eyes.
I have the Dig Dug one and I also picked up the New Wave Toys Replicade of 1942 which is smaller than Numskull and they both are built solid and I live in an apartment so they sit on a shelf that I can stand up and play them. I know what you mean. I hope these TMNT will be available to buy when they come out because the prices to pre-order were too much for me at the time. The Dig Dug one is a blast to play.
Really wish the TMNT games included both games. I would love to have the original 89' machine and be able to play Turtles in Time on it because I never liked the whole "Stuffed Animal" look of the turtles on it.
Agreed. The '89 cab is much nicer. If it included both games it'd be much more appealing.

I dig. A bit bummed they insist on putting Nickelodeon on the marquee. Originally, faithfully, that was not there and could have easily been branded on the back or bottom or something. I also miss HDMI out. Makes it more of a, as you mentioned, shelf piece
Licensor dictates Nickelodeon logo on marquee, non-negotiable. HDMI out is not authentic plus adds to production costs.

Considering Arcade cabinet minis usually sell for like 30 bucks...4 players or not, this is not worth the 300$ price they have on this. Hell the full sized cabinet was this cost when it re released like 3 years back (seems to have doubled since)

I was pretty sure that I would never buy a quarter arcade again. 299 Euros plus shipping and custom. Finally I bought the Space Invaders and I am blown away! What a quality, much better than al quarter arcades before! I am so happy that Amazon germany will sell TMHT quarter arcades on january, 10 - still 299 Euro but no shipping costs and no custom…cant wait to get them!
I love this so much, it's just another thing to collect dust though as I know I don't got time to play these like I used to but something like a table top area might be fun :)

Hey Brandon you know what I'd love to see you do? Now that we have so much choice in retro handhelds, I'd love to see your opinions on the most underrated or overlooked consoles. For me it's easy. The RG280M is metal, with new firmware it can be user friendly, and unlike most other metal devices it's truly pocketable, being smaller than the average modern cell phone. :-D Great work as always! It might even be a good topic on your podcast!

The reduction of screen sharpness with the CRT filter makes PERFECT sense, because if you were trying to make the most technically optimal means of playing these games, then absolutely NOTHING abt this product would make sense. As you said, it's a display piece, it's actual utility as a gaming machine is very low. If it were possible to insert an SD card with Batocera, even if it could only play up to PS1 level, that would be something... As it is though, this really is a rich boy's toy.
Is all directions on screen view good? Left, right , up and down? Any special discount code maybe?

Sometimes, you'll get the theme from the cartoon, but it isn't actually the official one, and would be sung by someone else 😔😅

Which do you perfer the New Wave Toys or Numskull. Picked up Dragon Lair New Wave Toys and also the Space Invaders Numskull. What I like about New Wave Toys they are idea to have on my desk to play and left. Numskull on shelf display as the size just too big. Looking forward to the Pesi Machine coming out should go well with the Space Invaders

These units need better screens. My Pac-Man and Galaga have a weird, blue wash-out effect when you turn them to the side. Hope that is corrected here.

So... if the arcade 1up was $300 why would I pay $330 for this?
Because arcade 1 up is trash. But this isn't worth 330 for sure. The best part is portability and low space requirement. 100 to 150 max is a stretch for this. This isn't rocket science and is cheap to make. Missed the bus on pricing.
These are nice but waaay too expensive for what you get.
I just can't justify $300 for something like that, especially when you're looking at the cost of a new console AND its just one of the TMNT games. I guess I should just look at these more as higher priced art pieces.

These look great, but come on “official roms” is marketing bs speak. As if the roms floating around online aren’t exactly the same lmao.
While I understand what they were going for, having a TFT panel kills it for me. Those are not good screens, especially in 2023.
the price is fucking ridiculous no defending that. Almost the same cost as a damn full replica arcade1up for a mini sized cabinet with 1 game and they are asking $300 and $400 for collectors yeah they can defend that all they want, bullshit. Atleast include both games, Arcade1up included both, same design cabinets too, dont make excuses. I cant stand companies who do this, this is easily in the $150 range, $200 tops but still needed 2 games.

They look cool, but I don't know why they bothered making them playable, like anyone is gonna actually play on these things for more than a few minutes.
I sat and played Dig Dug for like an hour. It's kind of like playing at the real arcade or an Atari 2600 or NES game. Play for a bit and move on.
