I think both sound really good and makes me happy that the SD PS sounds pretty good. I do hear a difference but if you would play on a stage the SD PS delivers and you can play a really nice show with it.
I like both and it's fun to have both!

I read through all the comments. The author of this video preferred SDPS for a while, then PS2, then ended up selling both, and started recommending real amps. Lol. I thought that was funny. Going past honeymoon phase is so relatable.

And now using the FM3 live! Real amps rule but can be a pain.....

@cragginshred I ve seen from the other comments that u ended up prefering the tubes one more right? What power amp tube based would u go for that could also be used as an attenuator?

The Fryette for me. SD is good but the Fryette is the feel good feeling with profiles/modeling tools.

The SDPS sounds good but the PS2 sounds more open. Like a breath of fresh air. The SDPS sounds more trapped in a can. IMO

    Nice demo indeed Sir!
I play the real thing (JEL 100 Head ) through my Fryette PS2 and I must tell that your video helped to convince me that my choice of attenuation was a right one ;-)...Cheers from Austria!

Cool! i did not like the Fryette as an attenuator but use it with the Kemper. I have found the Kemper profile of the JEL JCM channel is more useable to my ears. I did love the ch 1 on the JEL. Now they are going for 4g used.....crazy

@@cragginshred Yep....I’m happy now that got my Amp...it was actually a very fortunate accident....I’ve ordered the Twin Sisters online and the other day the selling shop said that It could take roughly 10 to 12 weeks until they can send it to me...😳....so I’ve canceled the order and took the Jake E Lee Head.....I’ve had noooo clue about the amp at all....Now I’m absolutely amazed from it and I guess it will be buried with me....😉🤘🤘🤘

have you tried reamping for attenuation with something like a suhr reactive load into the powerstage? Ive been thinking about that rather than the boss TAE or PS2.

Other one more Organic an open pop out too it has tube it help get that . Both sound good did seymour poweramp hold up good time you have no Problems ? I mite get one still look around for options. As 3 amp for wet dry wet set up use amp 1 blueamp two them for wet side stereo next option be this seymour power amp ??? Or blackstar amped 1 ?? .

In this video I actually prefered the Powerstage, sounded more focused and compressed in a good way.
Have you tried your Kemper with headphones? I heard is the ultimate headphone experience for guitar playing. Really on the fence about buying one.

    • @cragginshred

Yes I have and it's good but not amazing, just for lower volume practicing. I agree the SD is really good, my demo was done quickly and at the time I liked the SD powerstage better in my studio which is a very dead space with a lot foam.
However, in my house with a more open space and a lot of natural reverb the PS2 is way better, fuller, and more open/amp like. The PS2 adds a little bit of power amp gain in a good way. Both the SD and after this vid I tried a Matrix GT1000. Both solid state amps were so dull and lifeless. I was amazed at how much they changed my tone in a bad way. Both sold

@@cragginshred YUP, I felt the same with the Powerstage 170, just dull. I've had Mesa 2:90's and love them with modelers, but I don't love how big and heavy they are. I'm looking at the Fryette stuff, especially that LXII.
