Considering this machine, it's on my short list. But I'm concerned about the electronics being in the bottom. Yes, it's cooler down there, but I lost a Breville (made in China) to a pump leak, which eventually migrated to a bottom mounted electronic switch. Will have to look closely at the strategy to mitigate this possibility on the La Nova. Real pleased this machine is Italian though, and, my first E61 / 58mm machine. Perhaps the leak in the Breville will work out after all. ;-)
1st-line Equipment Hi, I'd like to know how many coffees this machine can produce at any one time? You mentioned you have used it at small catering events, roughly how many coffees did you serve? Thank you.
if you want a machine for catering that is portable I would suggest a light commercial machine like the Rancillio Epoca ST1 that has a much larger boiler at 4 liters the 4 hole tip and NSF approved which this is not and which may or may not be an issue depending on your local health codes
Interesting. I didn't realize they added a restrictor in the thermosyphon loop in the v2 machines. I have the V1 and it can be a bit of a dragon requiring a fairly long flush.
Looks like a great machine, I want one! Since it's an Italian name however, you should pronounce it "NuOva" and not the Spanish nuEva, like you did throughout the presentation.

Love the machine. $2200 in Australia but want one. Come in colors now.
Hi Jim. How do you bleed out the air if you removed too much water from the machine before cleaning?

+Leann Ben All quality machines make 2 shots at a time. In catering a 2 hour event, we averaged about 50-60 10ounce cups of cappuccino and lattes.

Hi if I have lime scale build up on the thermosyphon loop how do I descale these pipes?

Hi Jim, Can I adjust OPV for V2?
Hi can you tell me what type of water softening crystals are used in the filter for recharge.
Hi Jim, what is the optimum boiler pressure to run the Cuadra at? I have it set at around 1 bar at the the moment. Thanks
For espresso only, 0.9 bar. With steaming, max out at 1.1 bar.
