A great video in all the tricky modeling details and failures. It's curious how you have slanted this as not made for Kids because of the processes you use. Maybe let me tell you my experience with any argument with the destructive AI that Google use. No matter what argument I put to the bot I lose every appeal. Explaining there is model making processes has never worked for me. Even explaining it involves adult themes or retail studies fails. I have even proven to myself adding a curse word also will not stop the UA-cam systems from striking a video as Made for Kids. It seems there is a tipping point of 'kids related' images in a video that is where it's all set. Of course your never told why the AI see's your content as made for Kids. And anyway just on masking tape, yeah that's important. You do basically get what you pay for and non leak tape is needed. That line work is impressive.
It's been a real frustration to try and work around. Like you said, they don't tell you what the outstanding issue is, and once your appeals get rejected, you're out of luck. I've definitely lost a number of appeals. I'm sorry to hear your experience has been just as harrowing. I certainly hope that things become a bit more reasonable in the future at YT HQ, but we'll see. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment anyway, even with the ever-looming threat of the comment section being wiped. And yes, a masking tape lesson was certainly learned!
@@Calebtrain Google completely ignore a video that is made for a 'general audience' and seem to be very black & white in relation to whats a 'kids' video is. From what I can see anything which has a Kids character in it can be whacked down as UA-cam Kids. The fact that Google never points out why it's a Kids video is very telling. Maybe with that warning you use where you say a video can't be a Kids video will backfire if it is flagged as Made for Kids. If a parent hear or see a warning like that on the 'safe' Kids side of UA-cam they may act against it. All I know is if any of my videos get set as Made for Kids they become totally dead and basically worthless. The videos were never made for under 4 year olds.
This was such a fun video Caleb, I love this style and I can't wait to see more build videos. It was definitely fun taking a trip down memory lane (to last year lol). Thomas looks phenomenal and those clips at the end of the video have me very excited for the future content to come.

Thanks so much, man!! Believe me, I was experiencing a *ton* of anxiety while painting and then removing that tape 😅 It was just too excellent to resist! ⚡️🎵
This is an absolutely beautiful model! Gotta say you’re pretty brave for using spray painted lining, haha! Well done, man and I can’t wait to see the rest of the crew! 💙✨
Looks fantastic, a tip when masking, for a bit of extra peace of mind I spray clear coat over model after I’ve masked the area, and then spray the paint on top of it once the clear coats dried, it just creates an invisible seal under the tape and completely eliminates any bleed, once again fantastic model and hope to see you do more!
That is an incredible tip!! I’ve almost finished all of the main engines now, wish I’d known this sooner-but definitely will keep it in mind in future!
I’ve honestly never considered how much work it would take to make a model from a 3D print. This video proved me wrong, I have a lot more appreciation for this new type of modeling now. I totally respect all the ghetto methods you used, such as using clay to paint the wheel rims. I’ve been there too many times. This model looks fantastic, and I applaud your effort!

As weird as I find it that there are adult Thomas fans, I can’t help but envy how dedicated they are at recreating the classic engines, and making fan episodes. You guys are at another level and I love it
I bought my 3D printed Thomas body shell. It was the exact same one as yours but mine was printed from plastic on Shapeways. That resin mixing putty really is gonna come in handy. I have to start sanding and re-priming once the resin mix dries. I’m also using Tamiya French Blue for my Thomas. The Lining I’m gonna handpaint on the side tanks and back bunker. The stripes on the boiler and numbers will be transparent stickers printed at Office Max. Can’t wait to do this! Motor has already been modified to fit the body shell.
