Professor Colin Lizieri - The Hurdle Rate for DCF appraisals

The webinar spotlighted a critical aspect of real estate investment decisions: the calculation and application of hurdle rates in discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses. Research has indicated significant variations in how hurdle rates are established across different markets, making this discussion timely and relevant.
In 2017 Professor Colin Lizieri, along with a group of real estate professionals, produce a IPF report, called " An investigation of a hurdle rates in the real estate investment process" . The report focuses on the question of how real estate investors make investment decisions. And in particular the research examines the extent to which hurdle rates are used and the key driver of those hurdle rates. This webinar revisit the paper and consider key findings in the paper int he context of today's market.
