This was VERY useful information! I was looking for just this info for a while and this came and the right time. Keep it up bro! You're totally helping me out with my GarageBand editing.
Thanks Mate. This came along at just the right time. Hats off to your ability to relate information in a clean simplified manner that even an old coot can dig.
Why didn't you just crossfade the tracks at one of the quieter moments to eliminate the pop? I've never seen it done this way before. I've only seen guys crossfade to remove the pops. Cool tips thanks for making these videos.
+bAbel primarily the reason is because in garage band there is no really easy way to create a proper Crossfade. However if you use this method, there is no need.
does this also work with only vocals? an is it the same for doing each bit of the track like this? for vocal punchins as in saying 2-4 bars stop recoding an after that do another 2-4 bars as to not get winded
apple clearly sells the tut in the App Store if you search GB it will come up right underneath and don't be afraid to turn your tips on (top left tool bar) its actually the easiest work flow possible for recording music and does this very well professional mixing daw negative, professional recording daw absolutely
I'm just starting to learn GarageBand, and this was extremely helpful in helping me reduce that pop where the track splits. Thank you very much.
I could not have found your channel at a better time. Thank you thank you.
THANKS AGAIN AS USUAL MAN. I STARTED MYSELF ON GB AND YOUR VIDEOS HAVE BEEN VERY USEFUL. YOUR WORK IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
Perfect! This is exactly what I was looking for to punch in vocals!!

Thanks for the video. Time to start surfing those waves (:
nice breakdown. thank you!
Great video and easy enough that a beginner like me could understand.
That's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it, uh huh uh huh...
I like this song! LOL
Great video Lewin!!
Thanks Lewin great job.
You might try looking to "splice" segments at "zero crossing" in the wave form to eliminate pops.
THANKS!
Interesting. So when you hit record and it gave you a 4-beat countdown, the existing bass performance is not heard during that countdown. Yes?
Why there's no audio playback in the track when I punch in recording on garageband?
Lewin great stuff as usual. But I used the punch in loop but now I can't disengage it and the tracks won't roll, seem stuck somehow. What's up?

If I where to continuously let the punched recording loop multiple takes, how do I bring up those multiple takes, to be able to compare & choose?

How can you monitor the track and play along up to the point of the punch in?
Create a new track and start the punch in on that.
If you were using Logic could you get similar results quicker by using cross fade tools?
Yes. What I wouldn't give for a crossfade tool in GB....
Is there no way to just punch in and out without all that extra work, ala Pro Tools, etc?
Sorry - I get so frustrated with Garage Band. Why is there no manual? I couldn't follow this.

Loop tool works how?
yes - doesn't show where you tap to enable that.
There's a buzzzz in your audio
+ebbulk yeah, it's from the bass, I have lights on for filming, they cause a little noise. But once I start playing you can't hear it.
