With the emotional and vague voice over and the constant mentions of the phone ("me and my Oppo" being particularly cringeworthy) , this is basically an ad. That National Geographic partners with other companies is one thing, but to make its goals and values second to the interests of a phone brand - with noticeable sacrifice of image quality - is just another sign that we cannot trust companies to have values, or to resist the subrepticious pull of marketing that, basically, ruins anything good we may have.
At one time it was unthinkable that a particular piece of National Geographic content would turn out to be an ad, and that it wouldn't prioritize an educational purpose. I guess that time is gone now.
