Lampshades are obscenely expensive, even for just plain white ones! This is a great way to renew a lampshade and save lots of money and get a beautiful new shade. This came out beautiful...so easy too....I am going to re-do the shades I have for a fraction of the cost of new ones...Thank you!
Yes, you are right! If you have enough fabric, cutting it on the diagonal (or bias) is a better way to make the tape. For something like a lampshade, you can get away with cutting it straight to save fabric.
This is genius! I can't tell you how frustrated I've been this summer & fall finding beautiful lamps at thrift stores that have custom sized lamp shades to go with them, but the shades were ugly/dirty/or damaged and I couldn't figure out how to rescue them. Thank you for this tidbit of knowledge!
Really pretty - love the fabric!!! It's perfect! Gorgeous with the quilt! Do you have a source/name? Bull Clips are super helpful for lampshade making - especially for those of us not blessed with oven mitt hands!
Thank you! I have a few lamp shades that need covering, 2 are lined with fabric and the lining is in great shape , though I think I should cut current bias. Currently shades are tailored and paneled. Do you think I can leave panel bias since I’m pleating? I just think top and bottom bias might be to bulky and look cheap?
If you and your partner are engaging in playful or humorous behavior, such as putting a lampshade on your head, it could be seen as a lighthearted moment between the two of you. However, if your wife's reaction of chasing you with a rolling pin causes you discomfort or distress, it is important to address your feelings and concerns with her in a calm and honest manner.

Bias tape is cut on the bias of the fabric. It makes the tape easier to "fit" to whatever it's being used with.

Will it ever catch on fire with the heat?
Thanks. Only, how to go when there is only a frame, and this is wavy... I have already spoilt the first try, very difficult.
How does using a stripe fabric affect the process?
You have not cut the trim on the bias!
