Research? Research suggests that you should not cage a bird AT ALL. there's a reason why the sky is their playing field. Have you ever been confined in a small space for long periods of time and you're only allowed out for certain periods of time and only during certain times of the day? Sounds alot like prison or jail. I feel like caging a bird, in general, is abusive.
@@mysticgoddess1119 if it’s a wild bird, then it is bad. But we’ve got all these domesticated birds now, we can’t just let them free. To keep them happy, you need to provide a big cage, lots of toys, natural perches for foot health, a proper diet, and time to fly out of the cage. If you stay at home all day, you can have them be completely free around the house all day, only caged at night for sleep. Having a pet bird is fine as long as they are a domesticated bird, not a wild one and if you care for them properly, which is why research is necessary. If keeping a pet bird in a big cage with a variety of toys, perches, and a good diet is abusive, then using that logic keeping a pet dog is also abusive because they should free in the wild, not in your house or in a backyard, and leases are bad because they restrain movement (I don’t think that, I’m just using the same logic as you are)
@Birdie4life I absolutely agree with the dog thing too. None of these animals were supposed to be domesticated. Man domesticated animals instead of letting them be. The only animals you won't find naturally in the wild are dogs and house cats (unless you're in a foreign country where hyenas are considered wild dogs) these "domesticated" birds you speak of, like cockateals, cockatoos, budgies, love birds, parrots etc etc are not domesticated birds. They are birds you can still find naturally in the wild. But people where these birds are native, catch them, throw them in a cage and ship them here with a "domestic" stamp of approval. This notion that any animal outside of a dog or a house cat is domesticated is silly. The birds people keep in cages are not domestic, they are wild. Domestic just means "tamed and kept by humans as a food or work source or pet". If you do your research, you'll find that parrots, for instance, will never be domestic, even though people but them and stuff them in a cage. The dogs and cats that me and you know are domesticated. They don't exist in the wild, outside of being stray, or born to a stray, because man wiped their original species out through selective breeding. Hyenas will never be domesticated and either will lions and tigers. Birds are wild, my friend.
@@mysticgoddess1119 a domesticated bird is born and raised in human captivity, it’s those birds that don’t know how to hunt. Most people own cockatiels, or any other bird that were bred in human captivity (except for bigger parrots, I think most of those are wild caught), their parents and their parents being born and raised in captivity. Not every pet bird is caught from the wild, most being sold were born and raised in captivity. Sadly breeders don’t do a good job on making them trust humans We can’t just have every pet animal released, they’ll die. Could be from stress of being transported to their home county, or being hunted and killed in the wild, or starving because they can’t hunt. There’s nothing wrong with keeping a pet, whether it’s a bird, a dog, a cat, a lizard, etc as long as they are cared for properly. There’s no denying that dogs are really happy with their humans, or that cats are happy and relaxed in their cozy cat tree, or that a budgie is happy in a large cage with tons of toys. I have 6 canaries, they’d die in the wild. One complains too much and would keep calling me to give her food, one wouldn’t see what was going on (she’s half blind) one would eat a random leaf (thinking it was lettuce) and die because it wasn’t safe for her to eat, one would panic, looking for his friends (birds in the same house) one would be happy to have a huge place to fly, but die from starvation once she started looking for food, one would stay seated on the floor, scared, wondering where her cage went, her food, her sister, all her toys, and her favorite place to sleep would be gone. It’s too late to let them all be in the wild, it’s now our responsibility to care for all the domestic animals and keep them happy
@Birdie4life everyone will have their own view and opinions, yours is not wrong, just as much as mine is not wrong. Catching birds from the wild and breeding them for domestic sale is abuse too. They are still wild. They're just being forced into domestication for profit. Animal slavery. Same with dogs and cats and livestock. Animals being kept for pleasure (pleasure being companionship or work. Using an animal for work is still pleasure, because you're not the one out there dragging the fields, your horse is or bull or whatever you're using, which is more pleasurable than you working the fields without that livestock). We are a selfish, abusive species.
@@rajarshibhattacharjee1257 yeah great idea, setting domestically bred birds, who have 0 survival instincts, free to be ripped to shreds by predators or starve to death. great idea!
I love the cage but make sure you have a wider cage. Also you need shredding and foraging toys to mimic what they would do in the wild.Another thing is that you need stainless steel bowls because plastic bowls collect bacteria more easily. Also they need more natural perches.Last the diet should be pellets 60%, Veggies 30%, And Fruits 10%.
Circle cages are bad for any bird , stresses them out if they don’t have a corner to hide and will kill, ur a moron if u keep any bird in a cage like that
Well, it’s very nice for maybe just for a plant but these are flight birds meaning they need flight cages Not up and down cage. that would be for a lizard.

This is a great temporary cage! When you have to deep clean out their large one, place them in an area that is natural wood/plant and stimulating. For long term, Combine it all together into one mini forest! That would look amazing!
While i know the intent isnt bad, education is key here. Birds need width not height. Plants will be stripped down in months and they could be toxic. Lets set better expectation for would be bird owners.

Birds fly horizontal more often then vertical so I recommend wider cages
Don't recommend a cage at all. Set them free, and keep a bird feeder in your backyard
