He will be remembered as one. I am a bit concerned Southgate said he was going to sub him. You don’t sub players like that, you get the rest of the team to fill the gaps he leaves. Those types of players are the exception to the rule of football management, and I now suspect Southgate is a bit too UEFA Pro Licence in his thinking. Bellingham’s goal was pretty much him thinking “fuck this, I don’t want to go home”. And because he thought that, we are still in it.
