This nostalgia takes me back to mid/late 2000s; when I used to go see my dad on the weekends when I was around 6-9 years old; my dad would go to the basement and send some emails for work (I knew this would take 1-2 hours) so I would run upstairs and beg my older sister (who is 7 years older than me) to come have a game. After constant nagging, she agreed and I’d dash down stairs; clearing all 20 steps in a second out of excitement. My sister, dragging her moody teenage face behind her. I remember then always having to go under the window seat and pull out a pink box with the wii inside. Nunchucks tangled and entwined with remote safety straps, still stuck in Wii steering wheels. In attempt to impress my sister, I rapidly set up the wii, standing on my tippy toes to connect the three AUX leads into the back of the TV. Once set up I turned in the TV, switched it to AV2 and closed my eyes in catharsis as the Wii’s tone echoed through out the living room. I set up my sisters controller and mine, gave it to her, and in one big jump, I launched my self backwards into the folds of the torn leather couch. (Mario party 8 already being in the wii of course!) After submissions into playing wii sports, mini games and Mario Kart - we finally played my favourite... MP8! My eyes lit up as the game finished loading. We set up the game and began. It felt like seconds but the hour or two had passed. I only just remember now (as I’m typing) the sound that the stairs used to make as my dad walked up from the basement and open the door. There he must have saw his son and daughter laughing and enjoying their childhood; before the time of phones (my dad only having bought the latest phone at the time “the blackberry 😂). He came and brought us all a drink and watched us finish our game before taking us all out somewhere. I mention this now out of pure nostalgia; finding myself on this video for a deeper reason I guess. Probably because the fact that I things are never going to go back to how they were. When my thoughts, responsibilities and worries were that of a child. Those times in front of the wii were the only real good times I spent with my sister as it seemed she never really liked me or my company (as sad as that sounds, due to personal reasons I guess, even I don’t really understand still). But to a kid, my older sister was the world to me. Those really were though my best years of my life so far, if I only I could go back and tell myself to just sit back and enjoy the time right there and then. Enjoy being a kid, you know? It’s been nearly a year since I last saw my dad (he’s not dead don’t worry) and probably even longer since I saw my sister. I guess I find myself here not only out of reminiscence but I guess (being honest and making sense of my feelings right now as I am typing) but out of missing for both my sister and dad and those amazing times we spent together. (Of course not just around the wii but the times we went swimming, tobogganing and at the cinema). Literally don’t blame you if you a) never read / stopped reading ages ago b) don’t care c) don’t care But I guess I’m typing this more for me and as a way to physically vent my emotions by typing them out somewhere no one I know will see them. In short (to you) I hope this game and similar things, trigger good memories for you. Happy ones. *Wholesome* memories. I hope this finds you in a good place, mentally and in life. Remember you still got more life to go and you never know, it might just be as good as it was back then.
Man, this is emotional. Knowing that life will never be as simple and joyful as it once was. Back when boredom was the biggest problem, and playing Mario Party 8 was well and truly the best sibling and cousin bonding experience. I miss it just as much as you.
I remember my mom used to work at the airport and at that time I was in 1st grade going into a school in Manhattan being a really long commute. At 5:49 AM my mom woke me just like I told her to and I was able to play a game in before needing to leave. This Mario Party was my childhood being the best I had ever played and I’m sad about the new editions like Super Mario Party. I’ll end it here since I’m sick and don’t know how to end this so goodbye.

The nostalgia! My mom's best friend brought this game over to our house when she stayed with us after my mom got pneumonia a few years ago. My brothers and I made a lot of good memories on this game, from trash-talking the whole time to a brutally long Koopa-Town board (I think we had it set for the maximum number of turns) to watching my one brother nearly rage-quit the Star Battle arena. Nowadays, I look at this game with fondness. I haven't played the game since then and my brother (the one who nearly rage-quit the Star Battle) is studying on the West Coast. I need to get my hands on a copy so that I can show my little sister (who was too young to play at the time) the fun we had. Yeah, I know none of you reading this probably care. But that's okay. This game (like many of you in the comment section) holds a special place in my heart. And I hope that this game, and other things, remind you of the blessings in your life and that there is always a chance to find more blessings and to make more memories.
The little cutscenes at the end of the minigames, they're such an unnecessary thing but does so much. And the candys are so unique. As other people in the comment section say: this is the best Mario Party game. This makes me regret A LOT having broken my Wii. Oh my God.

This game reminds me of a time when life was simple and happy. Since this game has released I have lost my grandma, my wife of 7 years left me, my dad died, and responsibilities have just lead me to an endless amount of stress. When i come back though, and see the menu with the Tent, and hear that music that plays. That brief memory of life before being an adult really hits hard.
That intro of Mario party 8 has scared me multiple times and in this video I wasn’t paying attention and it scared me now I just look back at the good old days and laugh
Man I remember playing this game. It was like the first game I ever played, and I loved it still to this day. This game was part of my childhood, ah... the memories.
Ya know, this brings so much nostalgia I remember going to school and thinking of this game the whole day.the end of the day came round I was so impatient to get out the school door and run home to my favourite game mario party 8.Nothing was better then seeing MC ballyhoo fly to the screen and playing with my sister (who always said why don’t we play donkey kong country returns) i couldn’t wait to play. I quickly selected mario my sister, peach and sometimes my dad would play to who would be yoshi usually I love this game. (Edit) I just realised all our characters are being played as 😂
Everything is so nostalgic about this game, even the sounds alone like interacting with the menu. Just so good, such a perfect game. I'll always love Nintendo for creating thousands of memories throughout my childhood and even in recent years with games like Tears of the Kingdom. Legendary company ❤️❤️❤️
I prefer the real Battle Royale:Fortnite I said the real battle Royale: PUBG I said the real Battle Royale: Minecraft Survival Games I said the real Battle Royale: Mario Party 8 Perfection
@@Gautier_G I agree they should remake this and bring this back but Nintendo changed they should keep it and btw I hope it happens if they remake it 2022 or future
To clear up any confusion, this is NOT THE SAME VIDEO as the other Mario Party 8 longplay I uploaded earlier. The longplay I uploaded last week was a playthrough of the Star Battle Arena story mode. This video is a playthrough of the Party Tent. That means, 15 turns, 4-players, additional types of mini-games, and each board is 60-70 minutes long.
I actually played this game when I was a young kid I played it when I was 6 years old I always managed to win but now I don't have a Wii I lost it sadly:(
Yeah the board layout and mechanics as well as the requirements to win are very different in Star Battle Arena/Duel than in 4-player Battle Royale, just like in Mario Party 7. I always really liked that, it gives more depth to the game and really adds replay value.
Don't get me wrong, I really loved the Nintendo Switch and everything new, but honestly, I really missed THIS kind of graphics, they look so classic, yet so beautiful and nostalgic, I wish people are still capable of making this wii-style graphics.
I grew up playing the original Mario party, and I find this one the best one to me. I got sad when Mario Party 9 did the shared car thing, but I’m glad they brought that back since Super Mario Party.
I remember playing this on the carpet next to the wall looking up at the TV just as content as anything as I always loved the opening screen that made me smile beyond my limits, Nostalgia is what I feel indeed which makes me wish I could go back in time but I guess we all must move forward 😔
My dad bought this game for me and sisters when we were younger, I love this game so much, sad that my dad gave the Disk away 😔 but I have happy memories playing with it , I really love how the game is
Omg me, my brother, and our 2 neighbors believed Mario always won, and we fought over Mario, but then agreed nobody will be mario, and that’s how I started loving Toad and still play him in Mario Kart 8 Duluxe to this day
I recently got a Wii and this game again. As soon as it loaded in, the tears honestly didn’t stop until I finally finished a game. Needless to say, the nostaglia hit me like a truck. I couldn’t recommend this game enough, honestly, even now.
When you're so late for the party. I never knew if choosing hard meant the people I was against were going to be solid and hard to beat..or they'd have a hard time and it'd help me. Best kept secret ever
Even now I still enjoy playing this game. Everything in this game is fun! Mario Party 8 is the only Mario Party my sister will play with me because she doesn't like the others.
Hungry Piranha Plants! Deep-rooted secrets! Paths that branch off to danger! You'll tangle with all that and more in DK's Treetop Temple! Treasure on the far isle! Pirates on the prowl! Blasting cannons! It's time to run the gauntlet in Goomba's Booty Boardwalk! One mischievous monarch! Two terrifying pitfalls! And a billion ways to go mad! You'll find it all behind that door! Deranging! Rearranging! It's King Boo's Haunted Hideaway! Who's at the wheel?! How long is this train?! Are you ahead...or behind?! Welcome aboard the Perplex Express! Where are we going? Insane! And at the speed of crazy! Crueler than pirates! Scarier than ghosts! Riskier than a runaway train! In Koopa's Tycoon Town, you'll play an unbelievably dangerous game! Real estate! Dominate the town! Beyond space! Beyond time! And beyond decency! We're in the blackest hole of all, Bowser's Warped Orbit! It's seriously sick and twisted!
i used to play this everyday as a kid. it’s my favourite mario party game and my favourite character was boo and my fav board was king boo’s haunted hideaway. i love this game so much
How is this game 15 years old already? Me and my older brother spent hours trying to beat each other at our favorite boards and minigames when we were little. I miss the simple days...

Once set up I turned in the TV, switched it to AV2 and closed my eyes in catharsis as the Wii’s tone echoed through out the living room. I set up my sisters controller and mine, gave it to her, and in one big jump, I launched my self backwards into the folds of the torn leather couch. (Mario party 8 already being in the wii of course!)
After submissions into playing wii sports, mini games and Mario Kart - we finally played my favourite...
Literally don’t blame you if you
a) never read / stopped reading ages ago
b) don’t care
c) don’t care
But I guess I’m typing this more for me and as a way to physically vent my emotions by typing them out somewhere no one I know will see them.
In short (to you) I hope this game and similar things, trigger good memories for you. Happy ones. *Wholesome* memories. I hope this finds you in a good place, mentally and in life. Remember you still got more life to go and you never know, it might just be as good as it was back then.
Same, except with my brother.
Me too and sometimes me and my little sister would be at each other's throats
Same
Used to binge play this for days on end, loved the beach board and the hotels, but DK's Jungle and the train stole me.
I remember on 2011 playing this thing every single day
Yeah I haven’t played since around then 😂
Something feels so weird and nostalgic watching this
This game reminds me of a time when life was simple and happy.
Since this game has released I have lost my grandma, my wife of 7 years left me, my dad died, and responsibilities have just lead me to an endless amount of stress. When i come back though, and see the menu with the Tent, and hear that music that plays.
That brief memory of life before being an adult really hits hard.
hope you are doing better now, adult life really sucks,, ):
@@monicaruiz1559 Yeah 😥
That intro of Mario party 8 has scared me multiple times and in this video I wasn’t paying attention and it scared me now I just look back at the good old days and laugh
Man I remember playing this game.
It was like the first game I ever played, and I loved it still to this day.
This game was part of my childhood, ah... the memories.
Same here, good old days
Omg all of the memories of this game, I wanna play it again!!
To me, this (Along with Mario Party DS) is the best Mario Party game ever!
I prefer the real Battle Royale:Fortnite
I said the real battle Royale: PUBG
I said the real Battle Royale: Minecraft Survival Games
I said the real Battle Royale: Mario Party 8

Yea :( this game need the remastered version in Switch. This legendary game.
@@Gautier_G I agree they should remake this and bring this back but Nintendo changed they should keep it and btw I hope it happens if they remake it 2022 or future
Whenever I wanna play MarioParty8, it’s been a year ago since 2009.
THX! 🙏
I miss being a little kid and spend hours and hours and hours of just playing my favorite games, and this game was one of them :(
2:44 DK's Treetop Temple
1:08:26 Goomba's Booty Boardwalk
2:09:29 King Boo's Haunted Hideaway
3:07:14 Shy Guy's Perplex Expess
4:06:43 Koopa's Tycoon Town
5:16:58 Bowser's Warped Orbit
To clear up any confusion, this is NOT THE SAME VIDEO as the other Mario Party 8 longplay I uploaded earlier. The longplay I uploaded last week was a playthrough of the Star Battle Arena story mode. This video is a playthrough of the Party Tent. That means, 15 turns, 4-players, additional types of mini-games, and each board is 60-70 minutes long.
I actually played this game when I was a young kid I played it when I was 6 years old I always managed to win but now I don't have a Wii I lost it sadly:(
We enjoy this Mario Party in particular.

I remember playing this, it was super fun
I miss this game so much :(
I had this game, and i collected everything.
I grew up playing the original Mario party, and I find this one the best one to me. I got sad when Mario Party 9 did the shared car thing, but I’m glad they brought that back since Super Mario Party.
6 hours and still less ads than Morgz’s 10 minutes
I don't even know how he got so much subs
@@MadWeegee it's because of kids
I didn't even know this game was released in 2007, I got it in 2011
Ly canroc really?!?! I think I got mine in 2013 lmao
Phenom I was born 2007 idk when we got it
Mario Party 9 would be released in 2012
I got mine in 2010, when I turned five XD
I got it when I was 2 on July 7th 2009
This was the final Mario party that was good
@@shermendlakk well I think the way the boards work in that game is pretty stupid but Mario party 9 did have some of the best minigames
This was one of my very first Wii games, it was so much fun 😁
graphic design is this game's passion, apparently
one of thee best Mario Party games hands down. So much Nostalgia.
It's impossible to be unhappy playing/watching this game
I remember playing this on the carpet next to the wall looking up at the TV just as content as anything as I always loved the opening screen that made me smile beyond my limits, Nostalgia is what I feel indeed which makes me wish I could go back in time but I guess we all must move forward 😔
Loved annoying my siblings by taking their stars in koopas tycoon town.
Koopa's Tycoon Town my little sister and I would definitely be at each other's throats on that board.
I literally died for this video to be made, brysons team really put in the work
My dad bought this game for me and sisters when we were younger, I love this game so much, sad that my dad gave the Disk away 😔 but I have happy memories playing with it , I really love how the game is

The nostalgic is real, kept playing this since 2009 during primary school days
Omg me, my brother, and our 2 neighbors believed Mario always won, and we fought over Mario, but then agreed nobody will be mario, and that’s how I started loving Toad and still play him in Mario Kart 8 Duluxe to this day
hurts to see how time runs, nostalgia hits me every time i see this game being played.
i suddenly remembered that i play this game on wii like 10 years ago, that was truly a fun time
This takes me back
I recently got a Wii and this game again. As soon as it loaded in, the tears honestly didn’t stop until I finally finished a game. Needless to say, the nostaglia hit me like a truck. I couldn’t recommend this game enough, honestly, even now.
52:20 the moment Chain Chomp appeared, Mario was beaten.
I remember my sister and her friends forced me to play Mario Party 8 and I actually enjoyed it.
It's bringing me back some memories.
Big Top makes a lot more sense now than he did when this game first came out.
When you're so late for the party. I never knew if choosing hard meant the people I was against were going to be solid and hard to beat..or they'd have a hard time and it'd help me. Best kept secret ever
Very smooth processing I’ll give it that
I'm so addicted to this game now 😂
I’m proud to say that i still play this game everyday
My favorite Mario party I remember playing this at my grandparents house good times when I was a kid
Even now I still enjoy playing this game. Everything in this game is fun! Mario Party 8 is the only Mario Party my sister will play with me because she doesn't like the others.
The nostalgia hits hard man…
My favorite game of Mario Party series! Even tho I got Super Mario Party this one's better! Gotta play it on my Wii U right now!
I don't really like super Mario party that much my favourite is Mario party 8.

i used to play this everyday as a kid. it’s my favourite mario party game and my favourite character was boo and my fav board was king boo’s haunted hideaway. i love this game so much
Playing this game after summer camp hits different
3:29:55 Who Pulled The Lucky-Break Cord?!?
This was the first game i’ve ever played and I loved every second of it.
When did your first play it?
-NickMario1 - I remember playing it when I was around 4-5 years old. Pretty sure back in 2008 or 2009.
This is my childhood
How is this game 15 years old already? Me and my older brother spent hours trying to beat each other at our favorite boards and minigames when we were little. I miss the simple days...
Is like playing it myself... the nostalgia🥺
Hands-down the best mario party game - the BEST minigames and maps
