I've had this module from the very beginning and worked on the Hornet in real life. These series of videos are very well made and knowledgeable. Not puting down the other guys, but this manner of presenting the info works for me, the nuts and bolts of operating the systems. Well done.
deephack, thanks for this excellence! I'm firing up DCS now for a temporary abandonment of the LITENING....... been ignoring ATFLIR too long. You make it look easy enough :) The TRIG thing is curious...... still sketchy on the manual vs auto thing. Until now, TRIG is just something absolutely necessary for lasing and release. It definitely qualifies for a bind on the stick.
Just picked up the game and loving it and the tutorial helps immensely. Also noticed your Lord Flasheart livery. Hopefully you treat your man/lady just as well as you treat your kite!
I hate the flir so far.. very hard to finds targets, when over water. Finding center ect. Or resetting I wonder where it is even looking. I guess the HOTAs in the Hornet overall SUCKS
Yes I could have worded that better. All the zoom levels are optical but rather than smooth zoom this pod has zoom detents is what I was trying to say.
@@deephack Well that's not true. The LITENING has 2x optical (narrow FOV) and 9x digital. The ATFLIR has 3x optical and 2x digital. This allows for the ATFLIR to have a much better image as the picture is being magnified and not artificially enlarged.
Maybe would've been worth mentioning that laser arm trips itself off after dropping a bomb. Very annoying and unusual as no other aircraft in DCS just decides for you that your laser should now be powered off.
Learning heaps from your F/A-18 series despite already watching heaps of other YT tutorials. Brilliant TY
Dudes literally going the extra mile in what you can do. I need to do better lol
Thank you for taking the time to make this F/A-18C ATFLIR targeting pod tutorial video for us Deephack.

Good video. didn't realise you could swith between TV/ FLIR using the long key press. Helpful. Thanks.

Man that was clear and concise
I've watched a lot of videos and couldn't understand why my aftir was not turning on. Only after this video, I've realised I had to wait for a minute
Excellent tutorial! Why can't Wags manage to make it this clear and concise?
I really like Wags videos.
The man knows his stuff ;)
Thanks man, now I can properly learn the F-18.
That being said…doesn’t the flir have an A2A function???
It does, waiting for the next update to the MSI system in the F/A-18C before I demo that as some things are likely to change with this.
Thank you so much!
What roll trim do you set when you have the ATFLIR mounted?
I didn't notice needing any as you should be balanced by the AIM120 on the other fuselage station.
If you use the middle display it’s always in black and white. Hated that green screen, specially at night
well done sir.....
thanks for the tutorial
Nice vid....i prefer this pod tbh
TOP VIDEO !👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

you bet the f18 hotas sucks. nothing beats a10 or even f16
15:36 optical*

Aha, this I did not know. Thanks for the correction.
I like it black and white not in green it’s very disorientating…
You can display the TGP on the centre MPCD which would then be grayscale instead of on green.
@@deephack thank you bro

Does it do that under all circumstances or just if you don't disable it before the cooldown?
