@@justin6point7 interesting perspective. I believe Kate wrote it to explore two people in a relationship. Both have their insecurities, and it causes problems between them. They want to make a deal to swap places so they can understand each other’s perspectives. From a female point of view, this can also be seen as a woman daring her lover to swap places with her to experience her struggle in a “man’s world”, where there’s a divide in equality…which would have fit the 1970-80’s perfectly. An artist sends their work into the world to be loved and interpreted by others. My apologies if I was dismissive…I honor your view, as well.
