We visited Egypt in April, 2024. What a wonderful experience. The GEM offered tourists a “soft opening” visit. We were able to view the grand hall and staircase. It is absolutely stunning! Congratulations Egypt! You have created a masterpiece for the world to cherish. We will return when the full museum opens this year or next.

I like the openness of the museum, but it oddly makes me wonder how much sand gets up in there and how they'd keep it clean. It's definitely nice though.

Artifacts held by Individuals or Corporate groups, should be repatriated to Egypt.
Artifacts held in Public, Free to the Public, Museums... in the cities like London and Paris should remain on Public Display.
Why? Because these public displayed Artifacts are Public Relations Post Cards to 'come to Egypt'.
The total number of Artifacts in Paris, London, et al are just a 0.00001% fraction of the Artifacts in Egypt.
The Public Museum Artifacts are Priceless Advertising Campaign to COME to Egypt. Egypt could not buy the amount of Advertising these few artifacts on display create.
Think of all the Artifacts of Antiquity still in Egypt as grains of salt in a swimming pool. All the ones on Public Display would be the equivalent of adding a teaspoon of salt to the swimming pool. Egypt Knows the Artifacts in other countries where people can go on school trips, workers can pop in on their lunch break, couples can go to the museums on dates, etc...
The Rosetta Stone of Paris ... London on display in the British Museum, was the First Found and First to be translated... a translation that is... would it have been translated if it never left Egypt? As of 2023, there are 19 Rosetta Stones that have been recovered from the sands of time.
Not every Artifact was taken at gun point as many present their change of location. A vast number were Gifts to Heads of States, Tourists, etc.
Many others where 'sold' to visiting tourists. Yes many were taken. The Parthenon Marbles in the British Museum were removed and relocated... the local Greek Govt of the time was using the Parthenon as Target Practice for Cannons!
We do know the Pyramids were NOT for burials of anyone. There has Never been any funerary items found in any pyramid. There are many thousands of pyramids and NONE had anything to do with funerary aspects.
Each pyramid was a Chemical Production Plant/Facility. The Red Pyramid was one of many that produced Ammonia... Fertiliser. It was used in large quantities when the Sahara was Green FARM Land. The Pyramid of Khufru was a Sulphuric Acid production facility. The 'acid rain' from the Sulphuric Acid eroded the Sphinx... (not water on it's own).
IF it were not for the Egyptian Artifacts in the British Museum and the Louvre... I would never have visited Egypt and would not being going again when the GEM opens.

Not to host the mummy Rather, to present its history, civilization, kings, and the holdings of civilization to the world in a manner befitting the rulers of Egypt and the ethics of their era.
There are 4 dust you are talking about that are currently being built

    • @Masood1810

We can't have a competing pyramid. It's distasteful. Imagine what it would look like a 100 years from now. Just a bit of representation is enough. Design has to be of present time.

Do you mean you want to see the pyramids restaured as new? I disagree. The pyramids are irreplaceable as they are. I hope they keep them that way as there is nothing "sad" about the consequences brought to them by the passage of time.
