So helpful mate , my big red final drive was shot. Now ready for bearing kit. Didn't have the special Honda tool you used so got some box section steel to fit four corners , worked a treat. Big thanks from Wales.

I found after trying various methods without success in removing the small pinion bearing that by using a sharp pointed punch fitting loosely in the hole , a couple of sharp strikes results in exploding the race.

Awesome video, I have a Honda Foreman 400 that has a welded axle to the crown gear. I just purchased rear differential bearing and seal kit. Is it still possible or because of the weld did I limit myself on this bearing repair.. I have a leak in my rear diff and want to resolve it.

If you have taken the rear end apart and reassembled it without keeping the ring gear shims in proper orientation “right/left”, there is a good chance the pinion and ring are binding. Those shims look the same but there is a minute difference on thickness from right to left side

Ooow i feel sorry for you mr ray :-(, never nice to work on nastyness like that.
The brass rod is a great way for diy'ers :-D, ive used copper/aluminium hammers and wood to apply impact force, the wood is forced into the shape and spreads the impact really nice, no damage :-D
Cant beat a bit of wood... well you can beat it but... ooow you know what i mean ha ha :-D

That spring clip is not necessary. Drive the bearing in and the pinion hold it in place. Honda over engineered that one just a bit
