A lot of people hate on Josh, but he really is the best choice to replace Frusciante. No he's not as good ( in my humble opinion, no one is) But he was pretty much Frusciantes protege and worked with him on a bunch of his solo stuff. Honestly I love this tune. Reminds me of early 2000's RHCP. BEST BAND EVER!!
I agree 100% You can't replace the jesus of rock but you can still have the band be awesome. You can't recapture lightning in a bottle but it can still be fuckin bad ass. And that's what you get with Josh. Poor guy gets hate even though he's still very good. A lot of people just dog him for not having as good of skill at guitar playing. John played guitar religiously since 6 years old 18 hours a day while also listening to music almost 24 7. Dude is insane lol. No wonder he's so damn good and mentally whacked out. He can't even drive lol. Josh is very creative though with his guitar and voice so people need to focus on that. Yeah sure being super good at guitar helps but it's the artistic creativity that matters most. Josh has a lot of that and he's still a damn good guitarist as well. I know I will never be as skilled and talented probably. And I play guitar a lot since I was 15 and I'm 32 now. Josh really is one of the best dudes to take Johns place. That's a totally true statement. He did work closely with John probably more than anyone during johns last album with the chili peppers after all. Remember when they had Dave Navarro? That was clearly not as good a choice as having John or Josh in there. Navarro is a kick ass guitarist but he lacks creativity that John and Josh clearly have. That weird mystery to the music doesn't exist with Navarro nearly as much as it does with John or Josh. Plus his singing voice isn't that great while John and Josh are very unique and amazing singers. So good that it sometimes makes you wonder if Anthony needs to be in every song lololol. Just kidding. We all love Anthony. Without him there are no chili peppers. Did you know that he's NEVER played with another band before? He's only sung for the chili peppers. THAT'S IT! Talk about a devoted man who truly loves the band that he's created. You got to respect that! The days of blood sugar are gone. The days of John in the band are gone. But it's not like the band turned into what metalica is now or something. They still kick ass : ) Things have to change and don't last forever... But they can still be good in many other ways. I think it’s a shame that the band will probably never play anything from the albums with Josh again. Like with One Hot Minute. Those are all great records, John just won’t play anyone else’s songs. And they all had to play his stuff.
