Grabe is an overstatement in Filipno language but there's really no other way to describe this but grabe talaga it's like OMG on steriods I have nothing but respect she is a story teller and she has given a more profoundly dramatic dimension of the character through the way she sang it. If you have heard her still hurting rendition you will know what I mean
I have heard so many artist who sang this song and they were great. However, Lea’s interpretation was impeccable, very clean and you can actually understand every note which translate to storytelling. What an amazing voice! She owned it!
This woman is a Goddess & I adore her gorgeous voice since I was a teenager!!! Learned to be a classical singer so I could get those clear & strong notes out best! Then I'd imitate her, Sarah Brightman & then later Charlotte Church. They were the 3 ladies that got me excited to sing & I will always adore this Goddess Lea 🙏😊💕
I was there when she sang this. And you could feel the sadness, the loneliness, the pain... I prefer this tempo than the original.. it makes me ponder more about the situation.
True. But it's a bit too clear for my taste. I love Jessie Muellers tone which just shows how broken Jenna actually is. This version is nice but it shows less emotion...
Perfectly clear, not mumbled. This version and that of Makki of TNT are so far the best. But, try look at the smallest details, Lea's emphasis on the message is still the best because she hits you on the core. Perhaps, this one is the perfect balance of elements: the singer, the vocie and the song. It's not always the singer but also the song, you know?
I would like to hear When He Sees Me from Waitress also, because this is amazing. If she already has and I don't know about it, can someone please point me in the right direction?
Oh no hun, she's just honest and blunt. She was never arrogant, she knows what's right and wrong, and she speaks up whenever she think it's necessary and if she knows she's right.

@@jay-ardeguzman5891 Yes, I think it was the organizer or the venue that didn't allow it. The rules didn't state that filming wasn't allowed, I only found out when I was asked to put my phone away. I saw others filming as well so maybe they were able to film and upload some of the songs from the show. I do remember being asked to put my phone away during a Taylor Swift concert too, so I think filming in general is just really discouraged.
She's original Jenna, so of course she's gonna be better than anyone else. But you gotta know that this was sung at a concert, which sounded a bit different than when it's sung during the show. Sara does it different too when she's playing Jenna or during her concert. Btw, I love all of them: Jessie, Sara, and Lea. All wonderful, kind human beings.
@@XGoing.mentallyinsaneX. Almost positive this is half a step lower. I just played a bit from the original Broadway cast album and Jessie sang it a little higher.
This is not Lea. Different timbre of voice. The head tone is not as crystal clear as Lea's. This is someone who plays the role from the musical where this song is played.
@@allgood5710 At PICC. Your comment feels accusatory. You don't have to listen to it if you don't like it. I have no intention of deceiving my viewers.
She sings it beautifully. However, doesn’t sing the song the way the girl actually feels. Can’t do a cover of this song. You have to actually be on the stage.
Her voice is the cleanest I've ever heard. Her diction is always perfect. I love her.
I like that this was slow. It makes it more gritty especially on the parts that she needed the emotions while singing the lines.
Lea is a beauty and a gifted talent.. the more / longer you look at her the more she looks beautiful.
how could this be the best version i have ever heard?!!!! clear words and on point notes! wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear there is nothing that Lea can't sing. I love this rendition, makes you feel the depth of the message of the song.
God. Lea, the storyteller artist.
Most people here are complaining that this is slow but for me and the people who love this. This is amazing.
Now I can only imagine Mulan singing this. Lovely.
Lea can cover anything.
And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going
So, this is Jasmine after she suffered from being Aladdin's wife. 🥺
Dude, I was bawling when she sang this. Thank you for this! 😭❤

I prefer the slow version!!!! It penetrates deeper! Mygosh!
I wasn't looking for this and didn't expect it until it showed up in my Recommendations. But dayem! Wow!

This is the most musical and emotional version ever heard 💓

Saw her performed this live last night. First time to hear the song ever and it was the nost memorable part of her concert imo. 😢
her voice is so smooth :')
Omg!!! Can you imagine if she played Jenna?!!!😍😍😍
I'm gonna be a crying mess for sure 🥰😍
Sara Bareilles would be impressed!
crystal clear voice omg lea lea lea
gee wun I cannot agree more.

play at 1.25 speed :)
Thank you for this. I spent the whole video thinking "why is she singing it so slow???"
Hakdog? Ganyan naman talaga tempo nian
The outline of Noah’s Ark was found. If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ read the Bible or reply and I’ll send you some Bible Verses.
Lea always sing in accordance to the original score
It’s perfect just the way it is.
Can we also just touch on the fact that she’s in her late 40s and still singing like this?? She’s a beast! ❤️❤️❤️
Nicolette Nazarowski That’s not old. Lol
Late 40s! Why’s she not tucked up in her nursing home? 😂😂
It was a comparison to how she sounded in miss Saigon in 89. Still the same healthy sound!! 😍
Jest Pani cudowna...
Jak znajdę czas to postaram się Panią...NASZKICOWAĆ...😊
So beautiful! Just wish the ending hadn’t been cut off.
Sooooooo beautiful
She is perfect damn
Still with beautiful voice and face🎵🤩👍🥰
by far my fav version of the song Hands Down
Mine is Adrian Matthew's version when he got invited and sing it on stage in front of the cast of Waitress and the audience.
mine is Morissette Amon
omg smooth like butter, so cleaaan 💜💜🥺
listen to this at 1.25 and its perfect!
Simply beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
A verison thats rippingmy heart
We all know she's an amazing singer but this is WAY TOO SLOW.
I agree, I just had to hear it at 1.25 speed.
Maricé Rosales i did the same, although whatever tempo we play it, we cannot deny it still sounds beautiful and exquisite
I actually think the uploaded slowed it down by 1.25, and 1.25 is the normal speed.
Jonathan Ma Oh no no, I didn't alter this. She actually sang it slow. :)
I agree and I think the note is lower than original.
Goosebums everywhere in my body

Proud of you Lea
Wow I understand every lyric 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I've been waiting for so long to hear her sing this. Where/when did she sing this?
leigh agustin She sang this at her songs from the stage concert last feb :)
Thanks for the upload, dear. I've been looking for this. :)
Jais Roche My pleasure :)
Do u know if there's a video?
I would like to hear When He Sees Me from Waitress also, because this is amazing. If she already has and I don't know about it, can someone please point me in the right direction?
I would love if she played Jenna someday.
Joanna Ampil beats her to it haha
I don’t really see it tbh I love this cover but idk
Good morning, Bhawna03. it's surprisingly enlightening video. thanks. :)
Isn't this from Waitress the Musical????
GEE perz yeah
Yes this is
Gahd, the best cover I've ever heard. She gave justice to the song. I hope she'd consider Saint Honesty. ❤️
Looooove her voice but why so slow!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
God is real
Julia Unger so is Andrew Rannells
and her name is Lea Salonga
And she is a woman
❤❤❤❤❤
Ok, so lea can be kind of cocky sometimes, but come on, she has great vocals, she can cover any song and make it her own version
kallista aniway she’s not cocky, she just has confidence in her talents and skills. There’s a difference.
Oh no hun, she's just honest and blunt. She was never arrogant, she knows what's right and wrong, and she speaks up whenever she think it's necessary and if she knows she's right.

Why can't I find any performance video of this? If I remember it well, she was sitting when she sang this.
Filming wasn't allowed :(

Huh?
I don't like Jessie's version at all. It's so choppy and shrill and you can't understand her
Jack Clancy it sounds raw that's what makes it so beautiful. Well at least for me. The way she sang it speaks to me a lot.
nice one
She will always be Jasmine to me!
Oh my god
What note was that @3:36
I thought it was an E, but my Molly is hitting an E here: ua-cam.com/video/HFfUinYfg04/v-deo.html
Lea looks to be hitting a D#, unless I'm mistaken
I also think it's an Eb but I didn't really press it on the piano so how do I know
who else is thinking of "someone else's story" as well?
YES EXACTLY UGHHHH
This is a wonderful version of this song. You might want to listen to 14 year old Lucy Thomas sing this song you might change your mind.
❤
Why did it stop before the end?
Walang silbe lyric video pag si Lea ang kumakanta 😂😂😂
Wow
Beautifully sung but still it's Sara's song
Hello. May I know if this was sung in the original key?
Yes it is
@@XGoing.mentallyinsaneX. Almost positive this is half a step lower. I just played a bit from the original Broadway cast album and Jessie sang it a little higher.
Incredible vocals as always just too slow .
Very good but i dont feel the anger, the anguish, the surrender the song is all about
A 12 year old Luke Islam rendition is also very good
So slow for me. 😔
it's too slow indeed!
:O
