Itna mujhe yaad hai, jabhi Mili ka ‘Badi sooni hai’ gana tha, to Kishoreda ko bulaya tha, aur Kishore da sunaa tha gaana, gaana sunke he was almost crying, and he said, “I am going. Again I will come. Jab tak main ready nahin hoonga, yeh gaana recording nahin hoga”.
In another beautiful anecdote, Bablu ji tells us that during the recording of 'Badi sooni sooni hai' song, how all the past arrangers and musicians of Dada turned up to play various instruments as a tribute to Dada who was not well.

Good one, informative. It may be true that Marutirao never played in Hindi films for anyone else other than Dada and Pancham. But before this, he also played for Vasant Prabhu in Marathi. His accompaniments to most Lata- Vasant Prabhu songs are memorable.
My information from my interview with Amrut Rao is that Maruti Rao came to Burman when he was in his shorts.
+Moti Lalwani -- Marutirao was a regular player with Prabhu between around 48 and perhaps mid 60's. From what I drew from Amrut Katkar's interview, I gathered he (AK) was in shorts when he began with Dada Burman and that he was mentored by Marutirao. In a book on Prabhu, there is a reference to Katkar as being a stand- in replacement for Marutirao for a recording in mid- late sixties.

Who's Bhupi at 4.54? Bhupinder Singh? I know Bhupinder Singh to be a fantastic guitarist and was in RDB's team besides being a famous singer.
Bhupi is Bhupinder Singh the only one who used to play 12 strings guitar those days. He has sung for Dada in in Jewel Thief (1967) only the words 'O Shaalu' in the song 'Honthon pe baat aisi' by Lata. He also sang in Prem Pujari for SDB.
