  • Everyone thinks big tobacco and the U.S. government are at odds with one another....and sometimes they are. But the history between the U.S. government and Big Tobacco is actually one of collaboration, progress, and a lot of money being made for America..

Altria, the owner of Marlboro, is writing the anti-nicotine laws. They put into the bills a price minimum to push out low-end competitors. If prices were the same, would you buy a low quantity product or a high end brand?

Almost all of the tobacco brands in the world is just owned by 5 companies. Philip Morris International, British American Tobacco, Imperial Brands, Japan Tobacco International, and China National Tobacco Company.
Also, Philip Morris - Fortune Tobacco Inc of the Philippines has a 90% control of the Philippine tobacco market. They have products from cheap ass Fortune cigarettes(worst smelling cigarette) to the expensive Marlboro Blue.

whats wild is that vaping is scientifically 99% less harmful (there's no true scientific proof of it having any harmful effects tbh, just a couple of purposefully faulty studies where they used devices in ways humans wouldnt be able or want to) and has the capacity to literally save hundreds of millions of human lives, but because it looks like smoking, 1d1ots like this channel will still demonize it. meanwhile, gen z smart phone addiction is MORE harmful than smoking a pack a day, and even causes severe mental ret4rd4tion + loss of coordination, but i bet this channel wont be doing any videos about that.

The USA has a command economy that was established in the 1860's with the passage of the National Banking Act which ended the free banking era and so free market capitalism. Later on the Federal Reserve was established to manage the economy through the banking system. The federal government control banking for business and so give a way for government to control businesses. They continued to add other ways as time went on.

Not coaching. Maybe training. Players and teams play in the way they train. In the NBA you can't train. Too much travel. Spurs historical use first half of the season as training. LeBron does the same. Yep, calling plays is important, calling rotation matters A LOT, but training is above everything else.

Honestly speaking, I don't get impressed when some poor country hits the headlines as being the fastest growing economy and such. This is because, most of this so called growth is just paper growth with little to no real improvement in an average person's average income and standard of living. Despite reporting high gdp growth, several of these poor countries don't have any improvement in basic amenities and infrastructure, don't have any major reforms Implemented, can't stop brain drain, sees worsening social order, sees increasing corruption, sees increasing income inequality, poor social security and don't have any plans for sustaining the high growth. Average incomes of the people may increase, but the costs increase faster resulting in negligible improvement in purchasing power or savings. Increase in unexpected costs and weakening currency add further fuel to the fire. There is no improvement in the quality and variety of products and services, education, healthcare and human capital development either. Hence, before getting overhyped about a poor country being the world's fastest growing economy, dig deeper and find out whether these underlying issues are getting solved or not. Mere GDP growth does not make a country developed. It involves solving the underlying problems mentioned above as well. For an example, people who lived in the US in the 50s or the UAE in the 80s and 90s know what real growth and development is. This real development is not experienced by people who live in these so called fast growing economies.
