noralovespegasus He sings the small role of the Jailer on Zubin Mehta's recording of Tosca. He has a gorgeous basso profundo voice. If it weren't for the polio, he could have had a stage career as an opera singer, no question.

I love Itzhak Perlman, and I love Toby Perlman! Thank you, Toby, for saying "if everyone sang every day, the psychiatrists would be out of business!" AMEN!!! If everyone knew how great it is to sing, they would all be doing it, and yes, we would have happy, uplifted and engaged people walking our streets!!! It's actually a matter of public health!

That’s exactly what I thought when I fell in love with the violin. Can you imagine if everyone spent sometime everyday singing/ dancing/playing an instrument. Everyone would be in love with life!

1:50 Keith Jarrett is a genius master of phrasing and melody, and he always sings/hums, very intensely! He definitely deserved to be mentioned in that context...

A treasure trove of musical wisdom! Mr and Mrs Perlman experience a musical synergy together and with those their artistic lives touch
People like these are like shining lights in a sometimes darkened world. Thank you for sharing your G-d given gifts

Thank you both sooooo much! By the way, my high school choir director would start off every new semester by looking at the new members and saying, "I don't care what your voice sounds like." I'm using that for my teaching. Enough said.

Mr Izaak Perlman I am opera singer and for me singing ist my love, my live and.... My live is not possibly (sans - sorry English) singing..... Bat I think... Merci 🌺

It seems like more than a life time ago but I remember a show, around christmas I think, with Itzhak singing , perhaps with his father, up on a balcony, in a large church or synagogue. He has a very rich singing voice, it was wonderful.Sadly, I've been unable to find it to share here.

A little more melodic sense then Glenn Gould head? Really? Glenn Gould sung big own improvised melodic lines in perfect pitch along with the Bach pieces in perfect harmony.
