- Eric Church's unique blend of country honkytonk with blasts of rock and roll has made him one of the hottest acts in the country, and has earned him wins from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Awards. Mention his name around Nashville, though, and you're more likely to hear about this 36 year-old's reputation for smoking, drinking and fighting. Mark Strassmann reports.
This young man is and always will be a success in my eyes. As a teacher in his school watching him interact with other students I know what kind of person he is. A solid family man, respectful to his parents and kind to strangers. I am proud of him and his success and pray God will bless him with many more successes. Eric I know that you and Kathryn are so proud of Boone and Hawk and know Ken, Rita and Kathryn's parents are as well. Would love to see you and your family when you are home sometime. Sylvia Lail My grandmother is a retired teacher and my stepmom is still a teacher so the opinions of teachers really mean a lot to me and seeing you say this just makes me like Eric even more.

Granite Falls in in the next county over from where I've lived my whole life, so I really loved seeing it showcased. We've had some great talent come out of NC (James Taylor is another fav), but hearing Eric speak makes me SO proud because he hasn't lost that twangy Western, NC accent even after all his success. Go EC! ;)
