Trains Amidst a Winter Wonderland - KiwiRail on the Volcanic Plateau

This week we set out to capture KiwiRail freight trains on the North Island's Volcanic Plateau, under a fresh coating of snow. This region only sees snow down to the railway line level a handful of times a year, and so is an opportunity we chose to not to let up on.
KiwiRail's DL class are the mainstay for this section of the line. They are seen throughout the video, with a brief feature of the DFB class on the Northern Explorer.
