The moment everyone that doubted and accused Hydaelyn post-ShB died sobbing
Thankfully I never was one of those. Given her nature, I was a bit wary, but never thought she was the villain. and I was right. she was working towards good all along.
I love that tear she sheds. You call her by her name, and you tell her "we'll find a way"... which in Elpis is exactly how she described when she'd know that she had fulfilled her purpose and could return to the star. Nice reward for the better dialogue option there.
And with this her journey ends and she can finally rest..
Nah I disagree that that's the better one. I don't think either are better, they're both great. I will die on this hill.
Here's my simple reason: She doesn't cry at the name but the sentiment from "We'll find our way". However, I felt it was more important to thank her because without her, we would literally all be dead, multiple, multiple times. The least she can get is a thanks, no? Also I felt that the trial itself was already proof of our commitment to find our way, so I felt it redundant.
Here's the reason I think both are great - every WoL is on their own journey, if everyone took the same choices, we might as well delete them all together.

The choices at the end dont rly matter they change what? One or two sentences that follows after them? But they matter for the player how we feel about our story

The funny thing is the seconds option for the japanese client is 人はもう大丈夫だ ヴェーナス which translate as Human are now fine Venat and she replied Yes... Yes.. because you showed me a lot

@@Tackleberry61 Every child has to leave the nest one day. She was with us for so long that we will struggle to be without Her, but She knows we will survive on our own thus She can finally rest.
We were all caught up in wondering if we were tempered by hyadelyn, but she was never that kind of primal in the first place. Hers wasnt the incomplete summoning taught to beast tribes by the ascians, but creating magic done by a huge number of powerful ancient ones, nothing alike. She did everything to give us the chance to make things right, what a great character. I wish we couldve seen the canocial second azem, but since their gender changes with your characters I doubt they ever will show it.
We were given her Traveler's Ward to safeguard our aether, so that no others could violate it. That's all the Blessing of Light ever was. And those who have it now shall be the last to bear it because she is now gone.
Zodiark didn't "Temper" that way either to be fair. the Paragons did what they did because they really thought it was right, that they deserved the world more than us.
After first trial - I think Hydaelyn is evil.
After 2nd trial - Nooo... Venat...
After the first trial, i thought that voice we heard was Hydaelyn going evil. I super doubted her for a while there and after the 2nd trial i felt super bad and was in shambles that i ever doubted her.
that female voice turned out to be Meteion.
Shame on you people who doubted Hydaelyn after ShadowBringers.

@@93hothead To be fair. You can't have faith without doubt. Plus Ardbert was also musing on the nature of her blessing. We were immune to being tempered because we already were. Hydaelyn just never enthralled her subjects unless the need was extremely dire such as with Minfillia and Kyriel
@@Makorze that's not enthralling since both parties were more than willing to be a vessel for her will. One could argue about that willingness but then you'd get an awful reddit debate.

Remember that Tempering involves exposing yourself to the a primals either that it warps your aether into theirs. Minfilla allowed Hydaelyn's aether to flow into her to such an extent it literally made her soul immortal but destroyed her original vessel.
Krille gets severely sick whenever Hydaelyn channels through her. The fact that Hydaelyn tries to keep things brief is to prevent what happened with minfilla fron happening again.
Also the Loppertis also mention that Elder-Primals can temper people by accident because their aether is so dense it naturally draws the aether from those near them. This is why Hydaelyn never shows up outside the ethereal sea. Everyone would have literally tempered themselves when they approached her if thier willpower and aether were weak.
@@Makorze she never tempered the WoL. I originally had the same assumption. You might have missed some details in Elpis. Venat always had the ability to bestow an enchantment upon someone, it was not a new ability she gained when becoming a primal. She called it "Travelers Ward" if I recall it correctly and shields the bearer's aether from being corrupted as one can guess. and yeah she has that ability but being a primal born of pure love she always acted in everyone's best interest. After all, she is still Venat to a certain extent.
in this trial, i just followed Y'shtola xD because luckily enough, I saw Alisae get herself killed in a random mechanic during the dps check. Then it was later confirmed that Y'shtola dodges mechanics with the highest percentage. So I was like yeah...instincts never fail me lol
Not just the highest percentage. Yoshi-P stated that she dodges all mechanics because of her heightened sense for aether. So it's actually a lore thing.
Funnily enough, I think Yoshi P said in one of the live letters or in one of the Lodestone report thingies (I forget which), they programmed Y'shtola to have the foresight of the fight due to her aetheric sense thing (cuz she's blind since post-ARR and etc.), so to see your astute observation come into play here makes me smile. Ha ha! A gg is in order. ;)
And I believe she performs horribly in the Dead Ends dungeon for the same reason - that place is entirely built out of dynamis, so she's essentially running blind(or at least that's what I heard, I haven't run Dead Ends with Y'shtola myself).

@@MetaL556 That is also what I've heard. I wish they'd play around with this idea a bit more. Like, if you're running a trust with Alphinaud and Urianger in the dungeon where you ride Bismarck's back, you'd have a bad time cuz they'd be scared about drowning or something along those lines. Ha ha!

fun fact, that echoy haunting version of answers that plays after you defeat hydalen is what played in the overworld in the days before Dalamud fell
It also played during Shinryuu's summoning, in Amaurot, and on the first boat to Sharlayan. It's name is "Answers: Reprise". When it plays you better expect something in the plot at least as important as the Fall of Dalamud.
And then there's the level 87 cutscene after the dungeon, where for the first time in the game's history we got the full CD-length version of Answers. Not the version from the Realm Reborn cinematic, that one's trimmed back in places, but the uncut version. It took 10 years after it was written for that song to appear in-game, and as soon as I heard it I was crying. As that cutscene went on I was sobbing. I was holding my knees knowing that if they were pulling this out on us NOW then the whole story was about to be upended. And I was right.

pretty much the same thing all of us with pets went threw on this segment. :)
Okay Eddie's random howling had me giggling. I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS TRIAL TO HAPPEN! I did this with my boyfriend and after the cutscene, I was sniffling and trying not to cry. Then he asks "Are you crying?" AND THEN I BREAK DOWN CRYING! God I'm so glad I chose the option I did on the boat at the beginning. VENAAAAAAAT!
Haha yeah. He heard me crying and wanted to console me! But I was trying so hard to keep the tears in. Like soooo hard.
I think we all were trying not to cry. AH DAMN YOU ISHIKAWA!

I think its open for interpretation but I chose to believe that Venat was actually the mother of the Next Azem which sort of makes the whole Hydalen/venat/wol relationship much more dynamic and even more sad. From the moment we were introduced to her I fell head over heels for her.
for me, i think she had a connection to elidibus. probably his older sister
Would definitely explain Azem's goblin-like tendencies since she's exactly the same
I don't think she's biologically related to our unsundered soul, but there was clearly a very close Mentor / Mentee relationship between the two. Venat always seems to have been a motherly figure towards the Ancients, and to Azem in particular we were her brightest and closest student.
The tears must flow!
This was a great moment for everyone in the game... Although... If I remember you were going... "Holy... Sh..." When she drew the sword... Which would have been a great intro to the video.

To be fair, at 1:58 you were going down no matter what. You'd been hit by the Dawn Mantle, so your own AoE would have killed you. Alisae just made sure that even if a healer had managed to get you to full, you were still doomed.

It was interesting to find out the Mothercrystal was a fake Hydaelyn, it makes me wonder though, what happened to the purple Zodiark Crystal that appeared in a cutscene so far back I barely remember it
You bring up a good question there... watch that be some kinda grounds for the "Next Adventure" at some point
well, if you look down when zodiark turns the stage, you'll see it there
it’s under the arena, and the stream of energy flowing out of that hole in the moon after the trial is the crystal dissolving slowly into the moon’s air
It’s not necessarily a fake as so much a proxy. It’s still a large mass of aether.
@@acgearsandarms1343 normally a proxy is a person who you give the authority to speak on your behalf, Minfilia was a proxy, but the Mothercrystal was more like a ventriloquist dummy, or that giant holographic face the wizard of Oz used, while he hid behind a curtain

i play wow and i dont understand at all whats going on, is this some kind of moment that you FF players have been waiting for years?
It's a long story, my friend... Throughout the plot, this character has been only a voice urging us on. Then, as the story goes on, she goes silent. During her silence, we learn of truths that throw the players' faith in her into question. Is she good? Bad? We didn't know till this expansion where we realized the extent of her faith in us, the players, and what she sacrificed. A faith she place in us before we ever knew her and a promise she kept in a time long past.
