    was going to ask something but it was answered in the video. good thing I watched this video instead of reading the instructions on the paper. step 1 on the paper instructions says that I should have three Sq components and I only got one, which was the taillight. did not get the tap-splice connector or the resistor, BUT I ordered the relay with the tail light. so that worked well.

      Sorry for the confusion there! We try to take any confusion out during the installation process so if a customer purchases a relay, we remove the resistors that they will not need.

    Is this allowed in the U.K.
    or do you have to have indicators as standard , meaning can you have them in the tail light before I purchase ???

    I wish these came in clear lense too

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  2 роки тому

      For many years we manufactured this light in both clear and smoked. The smoked variant usually outsold the clear in a range of 8~9 to 1. Now that the bike model has been dead for many years, that 8 to 1 ratio makes for very few sales of the clear variant. It no longer makes sense to mold the clear lenses. We had to discontinue it.

    Yeah i just installed this integrated tail light on my 06 cbr. I wired in the resistors as well. The blinkers hyper flash and sometimes they go soild yellow when on? Maybe a loose connection to the resistor plugs? Any thoughts? Much appreciated

      Do you have an LED Flasher Relay installed? If not, that could be what's causing your issue. Without an LED Flasher Relay, your bike will either have a very fast turn signal flash rate or they will constantly stay on. Please check out our installation video for that product below and if you have any further questions just let us know!

      At 10:30 in the timeline I discuss the resistors and relay. We did not pre-install resistors on this bike. The bike was actually hyperflashing and we did a relay installation later in a separate video. To me it sounds like you have something miswired on your bike, or the flasher module in your dash unit has stopped working properly. I would check your front signals for how they are wired. Incorrect wiring of the front signals is often the culprit in signaling system problems like what you are describing. If the case is that the signaling module in your dash did in fact stop functioning, you can get our relay specific for this bike and that will solve your issue. Our relay bypasses the flash metering functionality of the dash and you can see the installation video of that part through its web page on TSTIndustries.com or in "Flasher Relays" playlist of our channel here. Please check your wiring first as that is the most probable cause of your issues, and the second solution I provided will not fix symptoms related to the bad wiring.

      @@TSTindustries hey. I was having the same issue as stated in the comment above. My front signals are not yet wired up. would that be a reason for the turn signals to stay solid and not flash at all ?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  3 роки тому

      @@jemelmonger I don't want to assuming anything and just say yes to avoid steering you wrong. When you say your front signals aren't wired up yet, do you mean there is no front signals on the bike? If you have the integrated tail light connected and no front signals your signaling system draw very little current as compare to the two incandescent bulbs it is designed for. The pair of bulbs in each side of your signaling system pull about 1.5 amps with every flash. With just the tail light signals plugged in you are pulling on the order of 100mA per flash. That is about 7% of what the bike expects. I would say the relay will be necessary anyway expect. That should be your next mod, and I think it will take care of the problem for you.

      We haven't had a chance to inspect that bike thoroughly, however, we suspect that it might be located near the battery or possibly underneath the gas tank. You can watch our video on the CBR500R model and use that as a reference:

    • @TSTindustries

      JD Pitts this is a very common problem we see with modified bikes. Your front signals are a single circuit lamp type and are wired incorrectly. The running light wire is connected with the signal wire into your signal lamps. Take apart the wiring to the front signals and disconnect the wires that have a white trace on them. One side will be blue with white trace, and the other will be orange with white trace. Those wires need to be insulated and remain not connected.

    hello, I followed the video doing everything correct, but my left turn signal stays on when turn signal switch is off. if I use the signal it works as its supose to. but on the dash the left turn signal stays on. I unplug everything it stays on, suggesting it's some sort of error code. when I plug the old turn signal it it goes off. I also installed a relay using your video, so no hyper blink. just the left turn signal stays on. I'm thinking I need to wire in a resistor or sorts... any suggestions?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 років тому

      It sounds exactly like a very common problem caused by wiring your running light wire to the signal wire in the front. Each front signal side has a solid color wire [orange or blue depending on side], same solid with a white stripe, and a green (signal, running, ground respectively). You need to make sure that you do not wire the solid/white stripe into anything. Tape it off and ensure it is not able to ground out.

    • @meowsty
      @meowsty 8 років тому

      +TSTindustries I wired them to the rear turn signals lights which only have two wires, one solid and one green, so no running wire if I'm correct?

    • @meowsty
      @meowsty 8 років тому

      +meowsty I also soldered the old connectors to the signal cables coming out of the tail light so to ensure proper connection. there is only ground (green) left for both signals which I taped off for now.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 років тому

      You are clearly using a taillight that was not manufactured by us because our taillights have all OEM connectors and are plug and play. I will reiterate that the problem you are describing is caused by improper wiring of front signals. Do what I described earlier to your front signals and your problem will go away. You can read about this common issue here: tstindustries.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1682275-i-plugged-my-tail-light-in-and-the-sigals-came-on-and-are-stuck-on-why-is-this-
