This is the Most Underrated Game in the Franchise

- Outside of the immediate hardcore fanbase, Assassin's creed revelations is often regarded as a boring "skip" in the franchise. I can't help but feel sorry for all the people who haven't played revelations or consider it to be one of the worst AC games. To me, this game has the best story out of any game in the AC franchise. Darby Mcdevitt managed to weave the stories of Ezio, Altair, and desmond so perfectly and gave us one of the best ending speeches in all of gaming. In regards to the stealth, it gives some of the largest arrays of options for a player to use, and I hope mirage can provide as much optionality as revelations. The soundtrack was also composed by the gods and its the game in a trilogy that gave one of the best characters in gaming a proper ending. I truly think Ac Revelation's story is flawless, and that the game is a whole is underrated by those who aren't avid fans of the franchise. Also, as a bonus, the Altair outfit in this game is the best version of it in any game except AC 1.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a 2011 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the fourth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, concluding the "Ezio Trilogy".

Totally😂
“To say that nothing is true is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our civilization. To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious of tragic.” - Ezio Auditore da Firenze
Darby Goated
Now that's what I call a quote.
This is the reason Ezio is the most influential Assassin and the best Protagonist of the series. He was written so damn well. There's emotion in his presence and dialogues bro.🔥🔥🔥
A true GOAT🐐🐐
What's so funny to me about using Altair's robes in this game is that he finally has the crossbow on his back from the first cinematic all those years ago.
ikr lol looks like a remaster
I forgot about the crossbow from the ac1 cinematic 🤣, thanks for reminding me about this "locked feature" in the original game.
Maybe the animus was tweaked and it wasn't Altair in the cutscene, And the actual assassin was Sigñor Ezio
So did brotherhood
woah, man, I had this exact same thought many many many years ago, wow. Ty for that, old brain matter just merged with the larger whole lmao
This game has one of my favorite cutscenes in the whole franchise. I'm talking about when Ezio finds Altair in the library and he says: *"No books, no wisdom, just you fratello mio. Requiescat in pace Altair."*
Its my fave
Is that the one with Altair’s Skeleton?
@@GoldenMushroom64 Yes, it is.
Bombs system was so sophisticated, even the bomb trajectory was made so well. It really was underrated. Great video bro
Agree man
I actually finished the whole game twice without using any of the bombs 😬
@@_.authex._5757 same, i hated the bombs needing to be uselessly complicated + im more used to actual stealth without any tools
You can be very creative with the bombs!
This has got to be one of the best AC Revelations stealth videos I've seen. It's kinda unfortunate that there aren't as many videos showcasing the stealth mechanics in this instalment, and it's even more unfortunate that so many people skip this brilliant game altogether.
Also I'd have to disagree with you, I think Altair's outfit in Brotherhood is way better
Controversial opinion on the outfit but i love it
any game without crouching is stupid
@@BlueFusion2910 That's an extremely unfair standard to have, and I would like nothing more than to ramble about how there is an abundance of non-stupid games where you can't crouch, but I have some news for you: there's crouching in the old games too. It only works when you're stationary since you hold high profile and legs, and there simply aren't many opportunities to implement it, but it's something.
@@effervescentapricot7522 i meant the assassin's creed games, and i knew about that, but that is stationary crouch, can't move
in a stealth game crouching is always prudent because it cuts your visible appearance by half.
Ik it’s an unpopular opinion but I’d say that Constantinople is the best setting we’ve seen yet (besides Egypt). It just feels so alive and bustling, and like there are secrets around every corner. I also adore all the new additions like the defense sections and the craftable bombs. The Altair sections were pretty exceptional as well. It’s probably the best game in the Ezio trilogy in terms of game design and narrative. I think AC2 has it beat in terms of atmosphere tho.
3:33 I didn't even know that could happen
Neither tbh
@@AltairStealth I didn't either
I've always shot that guy on the top lol
Always bolt'ed him
Neither did i but now i have to try
I was addicted to datura bomb and poison darts in this game. They looked so satisfying. Revelations also has my favorite mission in the franchise "Forum of the Ox". That one was way too action packed and I loved it.
Another underrated gem is AC Rogue, too. The Lisbon mission in specific impressed me.
Its such a good game
It really is at moments. This gave me the idea of a game based around ezio's recruits, can you imagine having complete control over the assassin you make with tools and mechanics of revilations...It'd be sick
would be so dope
Metal Gear Solid Online, but with Assassins, yes please
The story in Revelations is simply unmatched in the series, especially that ending. It was pretty fun and interesting to have stealth in the Tombs too
Such a good story
It's definitely the best for me and yes it's underrated. But I think the most underrated AC is Rogue. It was so good yet it didn't have the recognition it deserved, probably because unity came at the same time.
Yeah a lot of people love rogue
It’s because it’s very short and it was almost full price, and the writing wasn’t that great and it didn’t add that much in terms of features to justify the price at the time.
The hook blade and the bomb creation was one of the best parts of this game for me, I wish they'd do more with the stealth mechanics and provide more variation in future games. I especially want to see a new hidden blade design in action like in this game.
I wish too
It's a shame that Revelations doesn't get talked about much, I recently finished the Ezio trilogy for the first time and I could say it's my favourite of the three, every element of the game comes together so well and has unique tools like the hookblade and bomb crafting that you don't see in any of the other games, I will never understand why people forget it.
(Also it's funny to see crossbows in Altair's memories before the events of AC1)
it needs more attention
Absolutely awesome run of this mission. Loved how you used the timing mechanisms of each bomb type to your advantage and planner your kills around the bomb timings
thank you man, your videos came in hand as always
From my perspective every assassin's Creed is a gem in his own way
Everyone has his little piece of gold that make them shine
With someone who was disappointed in ac 2's level design making stealth almost impossible at point I adore this game. It was the first in the series where when I got spotten in a level it always felt like my fault and not the games.
no clue
Love watching your AC videos brother! You're the only AC content creator whose videos instantly makes me want to boot up my console and play the series again. Love how innovative you can be with stealth and the usage of tools, it always surprises me and makes ne open to taking newer approaches in level scenarios
Thats so kind dude❤️

i couldn´t agree more with you. To me, although i´ve loved, enjoyed and liked every ac game (except odyssey, i like the game, just not as an ac up until the hidden blade dlc and now the crossover stories that turn your character into somewhat of a hidden one that´s not a hidden one, kinda like eivor but even more), nothing comes close to altair and ezio, maybe arno, simply because of how good the game is when it comes to mechanics even tho story-wise there´s nothing like the first one and the ezio trilogy, and in between those, revelations has always been my favourite. First of all, ezio´s outfit (not the face, that could´ve been better) is fucking beautiful, and his role as mentor of the assassins can be compared to altair´s and how both their stories are combined in the game is just amazing. he´s wise, but also keeps his charm and is still as lethal. Now, is the story as good as ac2 or brotherhood was? a lot of times yes, but there´s been moments in which the story of the previous 2 has been more interesting to me. His character develops amazingly in the first one, his role as mentor and recruiting a whole new brotherhood is very well done in the second one, alongside the story of course, with the rivalry with Cesare Borgia, the flashback missions of cristina, the development of his relationship with claudia, the missions for leonardo and all that, again, turning him into the perfect mentor for the italian creed.. but then comes the 3rd one of the trilogy, like i said with an already established mentor, wise, in search of answers for all he´s done in his life and about to be done with his mission, with everyone looking up to him and him looking up to altair, and the setting of the game being amazing arguably better than Rome and probably the ac2 cities too, yusuf being a cool almost sidekick and great mechanics and stealth (although i don´t like the changes that they made compared to the other 2 when it comes to inputs), man it´s just such a good game, such a good character and trilogy.. i hope mirage comes close to the feeling of the first few games and can be as good if not better than unity was mechanics-wise, revelations is def underrated even by some fans of the games and ezio especially, great game, and seeing you play all of the game makes me think i suck at stealth and i really want and should learn a thing or two from you🤣
This is one of my favorite Assassin’s Creed games because it wraps up Ezio’s story so well!
Its amazing
If I had to pick one out of the Ezio collection it would have to be this. Something about the setting and places feels unique in the series since it strays from the Renaissance based period into the Ottoman Byzantine era.
its such a good game man
I knew you'll do a video of this map it's actually one of the best temples in the saga
yeah same, old temples the best
while there's some exploratory satisfaction to walking through dark tunnels with a torch out, it's really a completely different experience to these pathing challenges.
I just finished my first playthrough of the AC Revelations yesterday.
Whilst I did enjoy AC2 & Brotherhood more, I still really enjoyed Revelations & don't get the hate towards it.
I loved the addition of the extra bombs, the longer jumps, the ziplines. I thought it was a great ending for Ezio.
I was especially impressed by the creative format of the final Sequence (9) Revelations, with Ezio lighting the library torches, then the flip back to Altaiir extinguishing them. To Altaiir sitting in the library chair, then the camera rotating around his body to flip back to Ezio before Altaiir, honouring him and saying "Requiescat in Pace."
I had tears in my eyes, & more when I watched Embers.
My first 3 AC games were the modern ones, Origins, Odyssey & Valhalla & I enjoyed them all, however now I've experienced Ezio's story, I get why people adore the early games so much. I loved them!
And now, I hope to get access to Altaiir's story with GamePass, and after that I want to play all the rest.
I am addicted to Assassin's Creed, and am looking forward to Mirage next year! 🙌
revelations is goated
@@AltairStealth Ezio is incredible, and I honestly don't know why people would skip Revelations.
The only let down I had was they didn't let us use a foldable spear to carry (look at those other two handed weapons come on ubisoft) which you can use assembled and disassembled the pointy end for your main hand and the blunt end for your back hand but other than that no complaints gameplay and storywise this is the best Ezio for me period!
i agree i thought it had a better story than brotherhood imo. the gameplay really improved in revelations
Yeah gameplay here is amazing
*(Laa shay'a waqi'un moutlaq, kul shay'a mubaah)*
These are words written by our ancestors, the core of our Creed.
*What do we believe in?*
Only in ourselves, we see the world as it really is, and we hope that one day all men will see it.
*What is the world?*
An illusion, we can submit to it like almost everyone or transcend it.
*What is transcending?*
Recognize that though other men blindly follow the truth, remember that Nothing is true. Saying that nothing is true means realizing that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization.
Though other men are bound by law or morality, remember that Everything is permitted. To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious or tragic. That the laws are not born of God, but of reason. That our Creed does not command us to be free, it commands us to be wise.
*What are we fighting for?*
We fight against the illusion and they use it to command.
*We act among the shadows to serve the light.*
We are Assassins.
*Nothing is true everything is permitted*
Fraternitas, Unio et Iustitia.
Plus Ultra
every ac fan saying their fav is underrated without realizing they're just picking up that 10% of gold from a bunch of trash be like
I completely agree with you because Revelations is easily my favorite game in the series. Aside from the story, yes, Revelations, as a sandbox, offers a lot of opportunities. It is the pinnacle of the old formula before the Kenway Saga begins and add to the series new stuff like ships, more elaborate firepower, ropedarts, dual wielding, double counters and the like. But for the first four games, I like Revelations because it combines AC I with II and Brotherhood and adds several other things like more combat animations, new enemies like the Janissaries, the Hookblade, a more in depth Brotherhood System, bomb crafting, and the ability to wield several weapons and tools at once.
In terms of your video, that trick with the smoke bomb was sick and unexpected. I have seen other makers do creative stuff with bomb crafting but this one was one I hadn't seen until now and truth be told, it's a good idea that opens up a lot more strategies in this versatile game.
Another thing that impressed me was when you air assassinated the key master in the second room and the ground broke benieth you two, something I hadn't seen others do in this mission and I have seen several other makers do this mission in their channels. All in all good work, Altair Stealth!
Thank you for the kind words and ur thoughts homie!
I think the same Studios who made this made AC Syndicate. It's a pity both games are underrated. My first Assassin's Creed Game ever was Revelations. I didn't know the importance of the story arc at the time and just wanted to do Parkour and stealth kills as that's what I assumed the series was. But I stopped playing after a couple of the sequences and then went back to the very first one. I fell in love with the series because of the first five games and wanted it to continue on with AC3. I lost interest unfortunately. Now however I played both Unity and Syndicate and really like the gameplay of those two, despite the story being a bit underwhelming.
Wholesome
Clean kills nice job mate
thank you brother
This game has the best AC narrative of the franchise and no one will ever convince me otherwise.
I agree w u
One of the best sure. AC 1 takes the best spot for narrative for me. The history details in 1 were so crazy.
Valhalla has a very good narrative
but being so long it becomes stressful
Meh it's 2nd best imo. Imo the best narrative was in origins, personally.
3:19 And that, kids, is why catch ledge from behind is so important.
Yup
Best game in the Ezio trilogy tbh. They took all the best parts of Brotherhood and created an entirely new type of AC game with an undefeated atmosphere. Constantinople is the perfect assassin city, and an even better place to conclude Ezio's story.
I found out that when you use throwing knifes if u throw a knife far away it keeps going down and of it hits a target it will count as a kill/hit, basically u aim your eagle vision cross hair to kill an enemy out of your normal throwing range ( if a enemies like not below above you then you aim above their head you aim where you think it will hit them, it will take like 3-5 or more tries depending on skill) if an enemy is below you (youl Ofc not aim above their head if ur near the target that's below you you will aim for their head i think) if ur far away u can try aiming above their head like normally. But if an enemy is higher than you you'll need to aim much higher. i used this skill to kill the npc at 3:28 whit throwing knifes below him. This may take many i found this skill like yesterday day but it's possible.
I have a theory that u can kill some guard across the map whit this throwing knife thing( also i explain ed this in a haste sorry for bad English)
Oh thats so sick
I remember it, it was good old times
AC1 and Revelations helped me pass my "performance homework" at 101/100
It was about a young Turkic man becoming one of Allfather of first Turkish Assassin with helps of other assassins, and even "Ertuğrul Gazi" himself
Lmaoo
@@AltairStealth also his grandson (with osman I) and grandson's daughter (orhan and murad I) plays huge roles

I LOVE Revelations, it's my favourite AC game up til now (I've played up to Origins so far, excluding Rogue but I did just purchase it!). The setting is gorgeous, the story is neat, the characters are amazing, I love the gameplay. By far my favourite thing about it is the prologue, though. "My story is one of many thousand, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon."
I love your videos. They're so calm and precise and really show you what you can do with the AC games.
Revelations is a 10/10
I love this game so much. One of my favourite games ever. It is the max evolution of the first ac era's formula and it is so fluid and playable compared to ac I and II. The story is simply great (thank you Darby) and it gives moments of pure aesthetic and nostalgia.
Couldn't agree more!
The hookblade in my opinion is by far the neatest hidden blade modification/gadget
Rolling over and throwing enemies and the way you can use it on the swinging corner lights is just so fun to me
And Constantinople is beautiful
