why do I feel like when she sang Losing My Mind that she was thinking of her late husband? She put such emotion in it it looked like she was going to cry and I was about to cry right with her.
You're right. She was not acting. There was a crack or two of painful human emotion coming through during that performance. And, I feel for her - wondering what is real and not real is very scary.

The key change was altered...had to shake that off!! I love Bernadette but after hearing Marin Mazzie sing Losing My Mind at the 80th Birthday concert I have to say, not this time Bernadette. Marin knocked it so far out of the park, it will be a long time before I would think it will be performed better.
"losing my mind" is not an easy song to sing. you have to be in the right emotional zone which is right on the edge of madness caused by grief and erotic longing. if you're not there, the song falls flat as it does here. it doesn't help that her voice is shot.
