+1 to having BK on more of the videos. As always, love the banter, different input, and just generally happy seeing my homies tag team in the draft streets!
I forget how good these two together are until they duo up every time. The banter, the plays, the poking fun, and the fist bump at the end. That right there is two people having fun doing something they love and it's beautiful, love the guest episodes
I don't know what I have to do to make BK a more permanent - or at least consistent - presence in these videos, but whatever it is I'll do it. Besides the added variety of insight, the video was just so fun.
I love that you talk about targeting opponent with Ancestral. Week one of Hullbreacher being legal, I Ancestral my opponent to hardcast Sphinx in a Challenge. Thanks for the videos as always, legend!
If you want Emry to be a more viable pick more often slap that Jeskai Ascendency into the cube! Lotus, Petal, and LED all go infinite with that pair in play and winning with infinite mana, storm count, and looting is relatively trivial. Petal, Ascendency, Emry, Island, plus any white or red source as 4 cards of 7 in any opener is a turn 2 win unless disrupted with a number of conversion pieces potentially lying around somewhere in the deck (pyrite spellbomb, thoracle, brain freeze, aetherflux, forth Eorlingas, etc). Outside of Emry combo Ascendency has some use cases within 4 color reanimator shells and storm shells as well, and it’s not awful in aggressive Jeskai shells where it can provide some pump and pressure on turn 4 with a random cantrip letting you get in with those 1, 2, and 3 drops when cast on curve while helping keep the remaining hand gassy and limiting flood draws. Would love to see Jeskai Ascendency in your cube some time for a true Emry pop off game!
Super slow compared to other green ramp though and +1/+1 counters are not that good of a pay off. Other 2 mana mana dorks in vintage are already not that good, but much better compared to biophagus. Wall of roots gives mana on opponent's turns as well as your own turn, Caryatid has hexproof and Sakura Tribe Elder pulls a land out of deck
Yay Andrew is back! I’m excited to watch this one. I also miss the Vs. Drafts you did, with like Nummy and Reid, and we got to see both ends of the experiences.
The last game of round 2 and the first of round 3 were some of the most interesting magic. The opener of r3 and he pivots from fetching a surveil to get the sol ring and the mox. Just bought so much time to develop.
I’m curious if this interaction works the way I think it does. In the game against Arwen, if you hold dismember, attack, and dismember the creature Arwen targets with the ability, then I think no creature would get lifelink. Since any two of your creatures is lethal, you’d attack, they block the 3 biggest, do the thing posted above, and win? Unless I’m missing something.
Loving the banter from LSV about skill and then the constant crack backs from BK about LSV not really being as unlucky as he so sarcastically exaggerates :)
Is there a reason so many players use their removal at beginning of combat instead of after attackers? The only reason I can think of is raid, but I haven't seen anyone use that ability in years, whereas I've seen mistakes like killing a creature land at beginning of combat instead of after attackers. Genuinely curious
@@traycarrot He dismembers at 31:50 during beginning of combat. I've just noticed that being the trend instead of after attackers are declared, and wondered why it's the norm. He's done the 'kill opponent's creature land at beginning of combat' thing a couple times in videos over the years (I couldn't possibly remember which ones), but I've never seen the beginning of combat thing come up. Even something so simple as vehicles existing would make you want to wait until after attackers to play your removal spell. I'm just trying to rack my brain and think of a reason to do beginning of combat and can't think of any reason.
@@latitude990 The Sorceror Role on Spellbook Vendor gives it the ability "When enchanted creature attacks, scry 1", so you want to kill it in the beginning of combat step so that the opponent doesn't get the free scry they otherwise would if you tried Dismembering it after attackers were declared
@@AREAlhero It makes sense against Spellbook Vendor for sure, but why is it common against cards with no relevant abilities? Are these role tokens super common or something?
@@latitude990 It's hard to say definitively either way without context. It's possible that the habit has formed from having to deal with these relevant on attack triggers from other formats, such as recent Standard where the Role tokens debuted. Perhaps its even just for the F7 value as an experienced MODO player. The main key is these things don't matter when you're not in the context that its relevant in. Like in your example, sure the existence of Vehicles makes an edge case where this behavior gets punished, but when a Vehicle isn't on the battlefield there's no downside to doing it whichever way comes to you, until a Flash Vehicle with Haste comes into existence somehow. Focusing on these extremely niche edge case scenarios aren't going to manifest in win percentage increases the vast majority of the time, so you're better off allocating the mental bandwidth you have playing the game to more relevant thoughts to be had about the potential game states
regarding "preordain is a busted card" -- True. Brainstorm, Ponder, and Preordain were all efforts to make a "fixed" ancestral recall, and all of them ended up being super good anyways. (Serum Visions, Visions of Beyond, and Thought Scour probably fit in this as well, but aren't as busted in most contexts)
Always good to see Regular Guest BK! Any chance of Gaby making a guest appearance at some point, or does she have zero interest in being on camera these days?
I love how BK and LSV chase the most minute of edges so they can rib the other one for not seeing it.
lot of ego play lol

Love it amigo
A fellow Google + user I see.
why doesnt he just draft in the server?
lol, the banter was nice.
"Oh yes, right, I missed that!"
"I didn't."
Gotta love how LSV treats BK lol

comments like this help! (he's over at my house all the time, might as well put him to work)
BK: Makes a valid point
LSV: Eh, I don't think that matters
I love the very soft "Yeah, I don't give a shit about that." At 1:15:10.
It caught me off guard pretty hard, ngl
In one video with bk, the power turned off with them and one of them through out the f word. Bk being around brings out the real actual real LSV
I love how much more energetic LSV is with BK around. This duo always delivers.
I love that you talk about targeting opponent with Ancestral. Week one of Hullbreacher being legal, I Ancestral my opponent to hardcast Sphinx in a Challenge. Thanks for the videos as always, legend!

My brother has been watching your stats when you can see the opponents hand and it is staggering how much that improves your win rate.
Honestly not much of a surprise tbh, information is perhaps the most valuable resource in the game.
Just like poker. So much easier to make you bet when you know what your going up against!
@@jeffreyculbert2093magic is a game of inferring the opponents hand and potential lines of play. Seeing the hand makes this trivial
Really crazy that git probe was modern legal for so long. What a busted card
I am starting a petition to move the upload 1 hour back so I can continue to watch cube on my lunch break!
I’ll sign it for the exact same reason.
@@glenbell2445Just save the video for the following day.
My late lunch pays off in this respect
yes please

Very happy seeing BK hanging out. the shenanigans equity is very high
I love how LSV acts when hes with other players. His cheeky comments are great. BK is a cool dude!
Love the team-up! Funny as hell Boyz!
Love the LSV/BK drafts!
LSV + BK + Cube cannot fail!
gonna need to know what that lunch was
You and BK are a very entertaining duo
If you’re trying 40K cards, highly recommend Biophagus. Green ramp that pushes in an aggro direction is nice.

LSV really went "Gimme all the combos !"
Whats up with all the new 40k cards in the cube. just testing a bunch for fun?
great plays, great commentary, increased amounts of nonsense - absolute primo content
I enjoy BK guesting. You can see if really brings out the "Dude" in LSV.
Discarding the land was equal to using it as an elvish spirit guide.
The better question is if this deck was Sofa King good?
On a side note, how come mystic sanctuary isnt in the cube?
Cant believe he did recurring nightmare dirty like that.
I think you were supposed to night's whisper and then arcane denial it to stay at 5 and ancestral yourself, but glad it all worked out.
What was cooked for lunch?
