Desmond, if that's his name, is just the worst commentator I've ever heard. I'm either laughing at how nonsensical his comments are or upset that there isn't a screening process for competent commentators.
Hieractics are fun since they can make almost any synchro, but with Dragon Rulers its more linnear from how I see them used. I dont see how the deck required skill, since I myself picked it up and OTK'd a few people when just getting started with it. Even if I did a bad play I still had lots more of them without much thinking. Kevin has the card shuffling syndrom and needs to stop playing or try relax.
Cause he trash talked Jeff Jones and then didn't have the ability to win even though Jeff wasn't playing a serious deck against him. He was playing dragon rulers again harpies. Nothing more need to be said.
The reason that the format was skill-based was because it was a format that forced player VS player interaction, rather than hoping your deck can deal with or is just strong against another deck.
1) Dragon rulers did not make the format skilled at all. it was the easiest deck to run and anyone who fudged up their plays are scrubs. When it was topping in japan, I built it on dev pro and I learned how to play the entire deck in every situation in 15 minutes. In a mirror match, first to make big eye loses(watch the WCS everyone who made big eye first lost..). I figured that out in 15 minutes. And exactly how to get around any situation i could. It's not a skilled deck, its either Dice roll, who has the better hand, and whoever holds out making big eye. Also you have to not be like two years old to understand the deck. 2)Dragon rulers in a heiratic deck is NOT what makes it lethal, it kinda adds some rank 7 power but it is NOT neaded at all and in my opinion there are way better cards he could run. 3) stop using what someone made expensive, that doesnt make it good, people are dumb to buy it JUST because someone topped with it. 4) Dragon rulers where definatly not the best thing given to yu gi oh, there are plenty of better decks that where WAY BEYOND more skill than this deck. But dont get me wrong, Dragon rulers where amazing and definitly teir 0, but that doesnt make it a skilled deck, nor does it make it the best thing in yu gi oh.
An amazing piece of yugioh history

Dragon Ruler format was about skill? I thought it was just about who was better at the mirror because they just facerolled anything that wasn't >_>
