Great recipe. It's a fusion of Portuguese with a modern twist that some people with narrow minds may criticize but I think those Portuguese with opened minds would love to try and would enjoy very much.
My great-grandmother was from the Azores and neither she nor my nana made chicken like that .... but they sure did make a great pot of Portuguese kale soup with chorizo in it ..... something I'm going to make soon ..... and this chicken recipe too! Thank you for sharing .... looks fabulous!

I just discovered this recipe late last night. I made it for dinner tonight and it absolutely rocked. Like every one of your recipes that I’ve made, it was simple, accurate and tasted absolutely amazing. Thank you as always. Take care.
From a portuguese born and raise, before you start mixing with your hands the looks of the spices and all...spot on, it does look like a homemade meal by a portuguese Mom :D
I made this and its really does taste as good as it looks and for a learning cook like me, super easy to follow. I had this with a tomato and red pepper rice. Definitely will make again. Thank you Joel.
This looks very tasty! I went to Brazil last year and that really got me into Brazilian and Portuguese cooking so I’ll definitely be trying this recipe at some point...I’ll probably have the music stuck in my head for a few days too.😂
This is an absolutely spectacular recipe! Made the oven version this evening - and all I can say is "amazingly flavorful and succulent!" Making it again this weekend on the bbq. Thank you! :-)
Looks so good 😋 doing it today but my question, do I have to double the marinated ingredient if I have 12 chicken thights instead of 6 ? Thanks so much 😋
@@recipe30 Our family is most thankful for all your recipes, especially the chicken ones. We will soon grow beak and claws from all the chicken we eat! 😛
Nice try, but in Portugal we do it quite simple! Sauce is everything, everyone has a secret about the sauce, some with spice(piri Piri), others with lot of lemon, olive oil, paprika and garlic, and others with extra flavor coming from herbs. The best is to use grill and preference not electrical, but using coal, and then you've got the famous Frango no Churrasco!
Recipe30 nice, be sure to search for the best ones, as you can find some to run off from! Try Frango da Guia in Algarve and try some of these Churrasqueiras in Lisbon. translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A//www.timeout.pt/lisboa/pt/restaurantes/o-melhor-frango-assado-em-lisboa

@@recipe30 pretty soon when we are back to normal I hope people really travel like they've always wanted to. It's not always easy for people. But if anyone gets the opportunity, go for it. The food there is great and its family style a lot of the time, so you get good food AND alot of it! 🤣
I first watched this last week, today I have all the ingredients to make it, my wife does the cooking mainly so I’m hoping to surprise her. Let you know how it goes!
Kate Nerone Absolutely, single mistake I made was sea salt, slightly to much, but the chicken came out great, the thighs have a slight fattiness, but adds flavour. Yes, will cook again.
@@Larryloafer488 wow thanks, that's AWESOME! I do all the cooking around here during normal times, and NOW, Mama Mia, every meal, every day. I love this channel but have only made the cakes so far. My husband prefers white meat, but I made 3 protein Jambalaya a couple of weeks ago and used chicken thighs, and he loved it. I'm going to make this recipe one night this week 😊
At this moment the chicken is nicely marinating in the fridge. I have one question though. When I make this in an oven that only has heat from below, should I cover the chicken with a lid or foil?
Thank you, my friend... it's looks delicious... I will try to make it, but I think I'm going to go leave the spicy part out... I can't eat anything spicy my stomach can't take it.... And thank you for the roasted peppers idea... from now on I don't have to buy it in the jar anymore thank to you.... I am very greatful... You are a Corden Bleu chef of the best.....
