Hi, Jessica! How can I tell if the midpoint is a false victory or defeat when the author just learns some important information in the middle of the book? I have read a few like this that are genre fiction and by traditionally published authors, so this analysing the midpoint is sometimes difficult when they don't follow the Save the Cat beats.
