Oh I didn’t know this one was interchangeable, I know the Vladimir tiara is as it can have pearls, emeralds or be left empty (it’s on my list because it’s basically 3 in 1) but yea I didn’t know about this one 😄
You have made my tired day so bright by making the most beautiful and iconic tiara ever. I loved Princess Diana so much because not only was she incredibly beautiful but also very relatable. This tiara out of all I've seen is my favorite. Thank you so much for replicating it❤
Thank you that means so much! I think the new one is my personal favourite (emeralds are just one of my favourite gem stones) but my partner thinks this one is better so he’d be happy someone agrees with him!
u can hammer the wire to make it flatter for the love knots, take a straight piece of wire and hammer it, then with smaller wire wrap the cup chain on the flat wire and after that, you can simply form the wire in to love knot or at least to a heart shape. The same thing goes for the other part of the crown where you need a flat surface. Also instead of glue, u can use UV resin, it's way sturdier than glue. Also, I watched your emerald crown, fabulous job, but instead of using point-back crystals, it will be way easier for you to use next time crystals in a claw setting. and for the teardrop crystals you can use drilled teardrop crystals or briolettes.
That’s a really good idea, I never would have thought of that, thank you ☺️ and I have heard good things about uv resin, might be an upgrade for me one day The point back stones were a mistake 😄 when I bought them I was so excited to have found the shape, size and colour I didn’t think about the back until the day of - I did try to see if it would be easy to buy claw settings to clamp onto them but I could only find round ones 😂 after that glue just won
Aww thank you 🖤 I’ve actually just put up a poll in my community tab to vote on my next tiara project, I’m so excited to finally be making another one!
HOLD ON IM SEEING NOW YOU HAVE UNDER 2k SUBS HOW??? luv youre quickly pushing up the ranks of my favourite historical recreation/costumization channels! keep it up ❤
Thank you, this was one of my earliest videos so I did try to improve the filming on my more recent tiara video, can’t say I’ve got the drawing skills though 😂
Haha yes, yes I should 😄 When thinking of a project for the kings coronation I actually almost made Mia’s coronation dress but I couldn’t find the fabric so I made this instead 😂
Thank you, that means so much 🖤 I have so many stones and pearls left over that I really want to make another but can’t for the life of me decide on a design😅
I applaud you for making such a beautiful replica of this piece of Royal jewellery, however, you incorrectly describe it as a crown; it is, in fact, as you did mention in the video, a tiara. British crowns consist of a full circlet of alternating croix pattées and fleurs-de-lys surmounted by arches and a monde and cross; a tiara, on the other hand, is not a full circlet and may be of any design, it is held in place by the two extended wires on the bottom of the tiara, which are placed through the hair at the side of the head.
That’s so interesting! So if a piece had a full circlet base but didn’t have the alternating croix pattees and fleurs-de-lys design, would it be classed as a crown or tiara? Do crowns have to follow specific design guidelines to be classified as crowns then?
@@MadameMyriad A plain circlet (without the croix pattées and fleurs-de-lys) is usually referred to as a 'diadem' and was historically worn as a sign of royalty and not used nowadays. The term diadem can also be used for a circlet decorated with croix pattées and fleurs-de-lys/heraldic flora (e.g., the George IV State Diadem often worn by our Late Queen to Parliament and other State functions) and for the crowns of the Queens Consort with arches removed (e.g., Queen Mary of Teck's crown, which she often wore without arches; it was Queen Mary's crown (minus 4 of the original 8 half-arches) which was chosen for the Coronation of HM Queen Camilla). Crowns don't necessarily have to follow specific design guidelines (you only need to reference the many different Royal crowns from around the world), but in the U.K., only the crown worn by the Monarch and his Consort have arches (usually 4 half-arches), most other crowns, mainly used by the Nobility, are classed as diadems or coronets.
@@MadameMyriadSo was I at the beginning. But as the alternative was no illumination in my Star Trek ships I tried and it worked. Think of it as a curling iron but much smaller - and far hotter. Cheers from Germany
I would really love to pull that off one day, the Spencer design is so intricate that I wouldn’t want to do it until I’ve figured out how on earth to construct the shapes. I already have a few ideas though, so that’s going to slowly be computing in the back on my mind until I feel confident enough I could pull it off.
I thought about it but from what I could figure out it would end up ruining the silver plating on the wire. Apparently solder only works on very specific materials, but I would love to think of a project I could use that for because I remember really enjoying it in high school 😄
Oh I had to order them last minute part way through the project, if memory serves I had to get them from Amazon and it was a mixed size teardrop set, at a guess I think the biggest were about 18mm tall maybe
You've made a gorgeous replica of QUEEN MARY'S Lover's Knot Tiara, not the Cambridge. There has long been confusion about the name of this tiara. The one in England is Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara, a copy of the original in Bavaria. The one in Bavaria is the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara. I have replicas of both in my collection: The Rosebank Collection, which has over 430 tiaras, mostly replicas of historical ones. In my Tiara Talks presentations, I show both of them, and explain the differences.
Thank you! I honestly couldn’t tell you, it’s been so long since I made this one, I know my second one was quicker because I knew what I was doing that time and that still took 4 days of work 😅

You know, I actually still haven’t watched that, I’ve been meaning to for the longest time 😄 if memory serves, I was watching Merlin when I was doing this
Just so that everyone is aware, the mask used in this video does not protect the wearer from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) given off by the glue and resin. Its not designed to protect the wearer from anything: it is designed to protect a patient from moisture (and all that can contain) carried in the breath of a medical practitioner. Its a common mistake which could be costly. Basically, if you can smell it you are not protected. If you want to defend yourself properly from any VOCs get a proper mask such as those sold by 3M - they are not very expensive and will save your lungs and brain!

Yeah I will admit looking at these older videos, the balance on sound and things is a little off as I was still figuring a lot of it out. I think the balance has noticeably improved over the last year 😊
bring back tiaras 😩 it’s such a beautiful accessory. this one looks amazing. you’re so good
