I miss you Danielle. I can’t believe you’re gone. You changed my life in many ways...All the teen angst and the madness of adulthood. I miss your phone calls late at night. I miss all the Tori concerts and listening to music in your room and in the car. I will never get over losing you. Until we meet again. Rest In Peace.
I remember before she had a band and it was the Under the Pink tour 1994 and me and my BFF were 4 th row in the old Palace Theater in New Haven CT and she played this on a smaller upright piano prepared and it was out of this world, so was the whole concert! Still love this song and you Tori!!! xx
Reminds me of my dear friend Lisa whom took her own life. She taught me the magic of tori, before people knew the magic of tori....we seen concerts together, apart etc and now Lisa choose the path to take herself put of this world and it KILLLS my soul nightly..i can't listen to this song without crying. I listened to this album and precious things riding my bike after I found out she killed herself in the cold sleet/snow, on a bike just numb...so numb I couldn't feel the weather or anything and listened to tori and cried and cried..... Thank you tori for sharing your magic. It's hold dear special memories for some and also transports us into a realm of protection, comfort, and one day maybe understanding. Tori has been with me my whole life from 12 up..im almost 40 now and her music and Kurt cobain and Courtney music and art has kept me grounded and always here for me when others are not. That's a powerful GIFT to be blessed with...helping and guiding so many people. Music is nothing but pure magic and when a person finds the magic that clicks with the soul it turns into pure love, and magic.
Tori's voice & her absolutely amazing piaono playing- it like those are her wings. We get to see or feel just a glimpse of what it is to fly listening to her music. A heavenly ride...
Her voice is fabulous. I bet it is at list 3 octaves, if not more. And this song is so good! There are so many opportunities in this. Just look at the different versions of it!
Yes it is definitely on 'Under the Pink', along with some other winners. But the version on that album is very produced and light. It has an equally haunting sound, but I think it has only the piano bit. And that is not like what you hear here. The album 'To Venus and Back' has a live version, and it sounds much more like this version. More to my personal taste. With all the instruments here, a deeper, more satisfying sound. IMO.
Haha. That's the same effect she had on me! Life-changing. Heard one song of hers and then I had to hear them all! Please check out her older albums: Little Earthquakes Under The Pink Boys For Pele etc.
I believe (can't remember now) that in the version on the Under the Pink album, there is only piano, and no other instrument. And yes, I know that the piano itself was quite altered from it's original form.
I didn't say it didn't have rawness. Something can be produced like crazy and still have rawness. It's not the rawness that they usually seek to remove with production. I can't really explain beyond that.
A better idea is for you to go to google, or maybe watch a movie that shows musicians recording in a studio. If you want to know the meaning, that is. The purpose is to remove anything that might be considered a flaw in performance. Cut, retake, cut, start over at X.XX, cut, start over at X.XX and play these notes just a tad softer, etc. and so forth. In other words, produced. Like I said, the version on 'Under the Pink', an album which was recorded in the studio, is very produced.
I really like how her interpretations over the years have evolved but this one just seems to take most of the character out of the song, it sounds so bland and dull. Still, there's no-one like Tori.
This whole concert was beyond fucking perfection.

I saw her at Glasgow Pavilion on that tour in '94 and she played the song as you mention. That was amazing, mind you, so is this!

She will always be your blanket friend.
It’s ok to let her go too.
That piano playing is incredible, and that voice. How does she do that? She is magical .
Great, tasty and grandiose! I've never heard anything like it in my life.
You were given all the honesty, love, and truth. Buf, threw it away with an extra manipulation game
This is a pretty good version. However, the prepared piano is just ethereal and haunting. I love the 1994 performance of this song.
She creates magic......very few artists can do that
WTSF is such a good show. Bells for Her is one of the best.
My favorite concert
This song is so beautiful. It's so bleak and loving.
Tori's voice & her absolutely amazing piaono playing- it like those are her wings. We get to see or feel just a glimpse of what it is to fly listening to her music. A heavenly ride...
What a brilliant song from a brilliant singer/musician! Thanks for posting this version.
I can't stop what comes out, I told everyone I needed a hand

In my 20s Tori's first 3 albums were rich mind and emotion expanding universes equivalent to great epic Russian novels.
Oh man every nerve and sinew is moved....can't stop loooooving you
She is a goddess
Magic
The sister left our blanket
Meravigliosa
she is the best
this is a song that makes her great!
Gorgeous version💗
This version and the 1994 version, with the piano, are two of my favorite versions of this song!
What is beyond the Best of Best?? Wow!!
Wow, I just heard this version! It is so deep and melodic.
exquisite
Lovely xx
Great!
she looks like she went through very hard period in her life.
but maby she was just tired...
love her music
No bells, burntvat stake alive again

oh my god, why didn't i know this song sooner
WTSF?
Love it so much more without the band and the way it was on the album

Zero 💥 csre fir soldiers
jjajaja sorry i was confused i'm a fan of tori but i dont know why always believed that was "of" and not "for" now i realize sorry :)
Um, I think this is Bells for Her. Both of those songs are the same to me, but jut sayin'.
Awesome
You can see the Kate Bush influence here imo
Kate is her mentor agreed..
OMG it's a HUNDRED times better than the shitty album version.
I'm not sure you understand what the term 'produced' means in this context.
you are all wrong it's not "bells for her" it is "bells of her" a very beautiful song : )
It's Bells For Her
