Lori P Urbance is pretty Kick-Ass. Toonboom is the standard requirement for 2-D animation in the professional world. So if you see a 2-D animated show or movie it's probably Toonboom. Steven Universe as far as I know uses a mix of traditional animation and Toonboom.
I think SU does purely traditional, they send it off to a studio in Korea or China (can't remember which of the two) and they are traditionally animated there. Avatar is also traditional animation. Rick and Morty tho, that one is toonboom.
"Toonboom is the standard requirement for 2-D animation in the professional world. So if you see a 2-D animated show or movie it's probably Toonboom" ... Toonboom is widely used , but it would be overstating it to claim that Toonboom is a "standard requirement for 2D animation" (how is it "required" ?) because productions such as Simon's Cat , Ethel & Ernest , Gigglebug , The Breadwinner (from Cartoon Saloon, who also used TVPaint for their film Song of the Sea) , The Red Turtle (co-produced by Studio Ghibli and Wild Bunch ) to name a few , used TVPaint. In fact, most films use more than one software ; there is almost always Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects in the mix , whether the main animation software is TVPaint or Toonboom. The recent film "Mary and the Witch's Flower" made by Studio Ponoc used OpenToonz for scanning and coloring of the hand drawn pencil-on-paper animation. The early teaser footage for Klaus was animated with TVPaint before Toonboom later came on board as a co-producer of Klaus , so for obvious reasons the production made a switch from TVPaint to Toonboom , but let's not forget that the Klaus trailer everyone went wild over a few years ago was animated with TVPaint and then special color rendering effects and composting was accomplished with an array of different software , including Nuke. Cartoon Saloon also used Moho and Blender for certain effects animation in "Song of the Sea" and "The Breadwinner" , alongside of using TVPaint for the character animation.
Klaus was done primarily with in house software called houdoo, it was designed and only available to the "Studio du rouge possion". However they did use Storyboard pro so that's why I'm guessing they listed it
@@loopyslop In Klaus, some layouts, almost all the animation, Clean-up, Ink & Paint and FX were done in Toon Boom (as well as Storyboard pro for story). In-house software were only used for character lighting.
hmm, I'm a indie dev, right now I'm developing a game but would want a bit of cutscenes. I'm using photoshop, and spine (animation program) I'm the artist and animator but i don't know how to create cutscenes in photoshop and spine is really meant for in-game animation, you can animate the UI but thats as far as you can go unless I'm not knowing something lol. Anyways this program seems very good and powerful. Is it a recommend and i can learn by seeing tutorials. Thats how i learn how to do other things lol
You know, toonboom does look like really decent animation software. I'm going to practice animation using Moho(also known as anime studio) in the future but maybe after I'm able to be good at Moho animation, I'll try to take it to another level using toonboom.
The Harmony Essentials it's a really affordable option. It is way more powerful than Adobe Flash/Animate and cheaper than the Creative Cloud subscription. Give it a shot! Download the tryal version, I know you will definitelly like it! Have a nice day! Contact me If you need help to find resources to learn Harmony.
In the official UA-cam channel of Toon Boom they have a lot of instructional videos. Also, in their website they have a learning platform. I'll sent you the link later. Have a nice day!
It isn't free, but its TOTALLY worth the price, its not very expensive. It's not tough at all! It might be a bit confusing but over all, its pretty easy.
+LOVE// LEZ I'm talking about for example, not buying a license, but like a yearly paying. Even buying it all at once, it's cheaper than most other software of it's skill. You could do great things, even with essentials, which is pretty cheap compared to other animating software of its calibre
juniorcatDRAWS true. is just because adobe is cheaper yet simple and harmony is more costly but has more tools to use, so I guess it's worth it. it's just that getting use to all of the tools.
please! toonboom can't really do all that! i mess with it my self and you know right from the start your going to need way more tools than toonboom! they add this as a marketing scheme just because they may have use it for some minor things, but nothing mayor.
TOONYMAN STUDIOS Yeah, but you're looking at this from the perspective of a beginner. When I first started drawing on Paint Tool SAI I didn't know how to get certain effects. Externally edited or not, it's still extremely impressive.
the thing with programs like these is there always going to be a catch 22! meaning they will over exaggerate the truth! just to get you to buy it! this more people are lost when buying or trusting a program! they spend there hard earn money and finds out just how frustrating it can be. the number 1 problem is the limitations and restriction that comes with it. this is why i stop supporting commercial brand products and move on to open source! the solution for any artist in today's market to start and grow with is open source because of the freedom you get! tell me if you bought this program and wanted to produce your own animations but realize you would need a small team or a group of friends, they too would have to pay for it, and even if it's just for a piece of it! but with open source your free to play this anyway you want without limitations, restrictions, cost and licensing issues, that would go into making your dream a reality. with open source you pay what you think is right, or pay for that piece you just want or pay for someone to rebuild the program and add new features and or pay nothing! and still get your dreams happen. just look at blender and how incredible and powerful it has become. you have right there the world at your finger tips, from 3d, to 2d animation, video and audio compositing, game and apps development, character modelling, rigging, a new real time rendering system on it's way! programs like these are what will hold in the market as the industry standards in the future so get on board now! before your left behind.
The main animation software used for Wander Over Yonder is Toonboom Harmony . In an interview in Animation Magazine , Craig says exactly that in response to the question: "How is the animation produced? "We are doing all the preproduction, writing and the boards here at Disney TV studio here in Glendale, and then, Mercury Filmworks in [Ottawa] Canada helps us with the animation. They use Toon Boom Harmony for the digital animation."
Urbance, Klaus, & Ever After High were all made in Toon Boom?
Well color me impressed!!

When I get this software, I'd like to have my animation style a combination of the best parts of Mercury Filmworks, SUGARCUBE, and Rough Draft Korea.

Is Wander Over Yonder's animation program...Toon Boom?
