For Negative commentators, nonetheless even optimists can read the three bullet points :-
1 - these are CORE strategic technologies owned by very few.. Even russia did not share with us.. and west which has been anti-bharat (on media, deep state, people level even french).. we have come very far that UK France US are NOW talking about cooperation
2 - In the meanwhile Bharat has made progress.. not enough BUT yes somewhat.. Few components, few processes, few metallurgy etc knowledge and we will be there...they also know it.. Cooperate OR Bharat (however delayed) will repeat its cryogenic engine moment even in jet engines..
3 - the entire ecosystem has evolved.. its not in ONLY hands of PSUs and babus.. now there are even thousands of startups, whole network of academia (100s of engg and science colleges) are involved.. Also big pvt sector which can fill capital funding gaps and also skills funding (just hire few experts from west and close the know-how know-why gaps)..
3 - PEOPLE are also awakened..and that can be seen easily from stock markets.. they are pumping HUGE money in all defence & space sector thru secondary markets (listed), also in seed capital markets (startups fund raising) and also in IPOs... they all are best stars on market now..
What all it means ?
GOI is aligned, policies are alinged, ecosystem is as large as it can be now, and people & investors are also aligned. And icing on cake our geo-politics under Modi and S Jaishankar is leading from front..
NEVER forget china still has not being able to create reliable engine despite FULL russian support, their uninterrupted stealing from west and their manufacturing prowess (toole & machinary required)...

Hence this also gives us a window to join the FCAS 6G fighter program. The partners involved in FCAS are also military business partners of India, apart from France, there's Spain with whom we've done the Airbus C295 deal & finally there's Germany whose submarines are best suited for IN's P75i requirements. FCAS will really be a game changer for us
Bro we already had offers for Tempest 6th gen fighter but we haven't accepted it. I think India is trying to be 100% indigenous first so we can at least have enough capability to beat one particular neighbor even in the time of war
@@rocker10039 am not against AMCA, let DRDO+ADA+HAL work on it, if we join Tempest or FCAS not only we'll get 6G & engine technology but also IP rights as well, this'll indirectly assist DRDO in developing AMCA 2.0. Also joining international fighter jet programs like Tempest or FCAS will reduce the burden of R&D cost.
And knowing the credibility of DRDO & HAL's timeliness, we shouldn't believe blindly whatever their chiefs say. The IAF should keep a backup plan for their next gen fighter program

The biggest handicap on the path of Jet engine development is the lack of funding. People don't realize such critical technologies need huge and I mean really HUGE investment and Patience. You have to bear the thousands of failures that will come before the final success, but we can't afford that. I believe in our scientists.
That's why India buying jets engine's from France usa Russia
We can afford that but government is busy with Sardar Patel statue worth 2500 crores which could instead be easily used to fund kaveri engine

Whatever they developed it should have a dry thrust of 95-105KN & wet thrust of 130-145KN with afterburners,with capabilities of 20% future growth,so that it can equip future Heavy fighters
Amca is a medium category fighter aircraft with double engine configuration so 110 kn thrust with After burning section is enough to power AMCA,a engine with 100kn or more dry thrust is only applicable in heavy or medium category transport aircrafts or fighter aircraft like f-35.
110 kn engine will also have 20% growth potential
It can go to 120without modifications n 130 with modifications
You are dreming about fufill 6 gen requirement with 5th gen engine.

Kaveri engine is doing good it has endurance of 2000 hours, only after burner thrust should be 80 kn thrust. Still kaveri is successful.

Biggest mistake of GTRE was they directly jump into high thrust engine.
If we have proven low thrust engine, we might used in Jaguar, CATS worrier, UCAV or UAV.
Indigenous dry kaveri engine will power ghatak UCAV, indigenous HTFE-25 will power bigger cat's warrior,we already made significant progress,agar ham kaveri program ko continue karte aur isme invest karte to aaj hmare pas ek 90kn class ka engine maujud hota.

They can use kaveri in tedbf 73kn*2 engines which will give close thrust to the rafales. Rafales also have 75kn *2 engines. We can reduce margin of safety by 0.2 to 0.3. meaning these engines can give around 80kn to 85kn. I know not a good idea but temporarily we can do this then can use kaizen principle to continuously improve the performance and safety

I am happy we are co-developing the next generation jet engine with France and not with the US. The US is a very unreliable partner which can turn and backstab us at any time. France is a much more mature democracy and India can maintain its own strategic position in the world stage without much backlash.

Safran agreed to provide 100% ToT,know how and know why but the question is, whether india will hold the ip rights or not?.
If india holds the ip rights it is definitely the best deal. If india doesn't hold the ip rights, it is not a good deal because we invest our money in the engine program.
In this deal we can ask for ip rights as we co develop engine with france because it is not a direct purchase of engines like ge f 414 deal. As we co develop engines india will likely have the exports rights.
I think india should be provided ip rights as we co develop engines with france( safran).
