    I couldn't have found this discussion at a better time in my life 😂 I just started to listen to my spirit and now I have been able to create music and poetry after 22 years of spiritual sickness. I turned 33 yesterday and just started to see my truth that I have always known 2 months ago. Art is the highest form of communion 😊

    I do shadow work over the last 3 years (without realizing it) by doing 100 paintings that started totally abstract, then I saw images and painted over the abstract, but figurative. Then I boxed all the paintings and a year later, I'm transforming each painting. It is like my painting style evolved during the year I did not paint, and now the paintings are "coming into focus". Their formerly subconscious meaning has now become clearer. For example: a painting representing an enemy, now illustrates a teacher. This is how I use alchemy and creativity to heal old trauma, transform my view of my self, my memories of my past and view of my reality. This is a fine meditation for me (painting).I enrich my soul!

    I’m a man on a spiritual journey. And a songwriter. I’ve given out the goosebumps before, but I haven’t played a gig in almost a decade. But then it came back. Played a gig a few weeks ago, and I’m playing again couple weeks from now. This whole conversation was awesome. Time to jump over that hump and share the bread. I have to. And I know I do. But I felt that malaise, that stuckness. Walking in molasses. When the music came back, it wasn’t about ego, it was different now. Daimon, genius.. I gotta listen to the whisper. Not only to contribute, but also bc if I don’t, I’m just a walking dead man, really. Thanks for this. Great channel, seriously. Just found it and I’ve been cracking out on it all night! Love and Gratitude, Jenzin.

    Oh man is this discussion my jam. All topics of great importance to me and central to my reflexions at the moment. Truly appreciate your work, both of you, thank you so much for all that you do. Been intending to join the Patreon but procrastinated on it but this convinced me to stop waiting, going for it right now!
    I've heard you mention James Hillman in another vid and I'm currently diving into his work and finding so much nourishnment in the ideas he explored, don't know if this aligns with your plans for the channel but if you one day feel like diving into his ideas in a vid that would be a great gift to the world! There's almost no videos exploring his thought and the fascinating perspectives he covered in his life (or I couldn't find them if there are) and it's such a shame, I feel like in the age of "Creative Mythology" as Campbell called it, Hillman provided insights that are invaluable and that could help so much people in our quest for meaning.
    Thank you again and keep up the amazing work, finding your channel has been a formidable source of inspiration and joy!

    Artists almost get "beat" into this belief: they get laughed at, they're called narcissists, etc. Some, unfortunately, prepare in the traditional way (school) which is not a good idea. They acumulate debt and teachers and "mentors" who can't really guide them to true success

    A lot of truths in this video - I have watched and researched Jung quite extensively, but never seen these points concerning arts articulated in such an accurate manner as this. When one gets deep enough into the process, the muse/anima will reveal itself and guide the way. However, it is easy to get into the "artist's/mystic's bubble" and see everything - and everyone - through these tinted lenses. I don't think everyone can be an artist, nor should they. In fact, I suspect that the majority of populace can find easier, alternative ways of healing and "finding themselves" than the deeply mystical and - franky, exceedingly challenging - introspective route like Jung did. I think it was Jung's own frame bias as well that led him to thinking this. When one talks about these subjects with passion and has felt the powerful nature of this path, it naturally attracts like-minded people... and then the bubble-mentality can easily take over. In essence, not everyone in the world has that artistic orientation, but it does not diminish said path's veracity for those that do possess an innate affinity towards it.

    • @crawdeloch
      @crawdeloch Рік тому

      I will just add that the "success" part, as well, is not necessarily chiseled into stone - although I suppose what one defines as success, varies. For some it is the gravitation of audience towards them as they sense the authenticity of the art and the artist. For other, more reclusive artists, it could be the honing of the subjective accuracy into perfection, and the audience does not matter. I think the example of that photographer lady is a great example of this. For a long time I have been the same, disregarding the audience altogether, not bothering to reveal much of my arts for the world. This is actually what I have begun to examine with my new project... and subsequently, been posting more online. Even if wanting to remain in the unknown, there's always that annoying human need of wanting to be seen and heard. Perhaps that's the voice of the collective, or something else. Who knows.
