Now example 2 the answer is supposed to be -1 only because when you substitute -6 to the equation you will get the log of a negative number which is undefined.

Congratulations Sir, but I have the small reminder, "There is the largest difference between Power, exponents and the base" when you talk about the exponent you mean the degree rised by the number(base), and power mean (the whole combination of base and exponent, eg. b^n here b is the base, n is the exponent (degree) and b^n is the power.

Im not aware of that. I use the term 'exponent' and 'power' interchangeably. Example... 5^n ( five to the power n, or, five raised to the exponent n).
