- With straddle coasters being a hot topic as of lately due to the latest additions going to SeaWorld San Diego and Busch Gardens Williamsburg, we hear from Daniel Schoppen from the Intamin design team, who talks about the concepts origins dating back to Juvelen at Djurs Sommerland, and how the ride has progressed into the latest and greatest family launch coasters ever designed.

Juvelen is really a masterpiece. And should be a must-have for most larger family parks. I don't know the specific downtime of the ride. But I've never seen it broken down in any of my almost 20 visits at djurs since it was constructed.
I agree. I have seen it down but that was in the start of the day
I love Daniel Schoppen. He is a very INT-spiring role model for coaster enthusiasts
If This is Family Thrill This would fit so well in my home park Drayton Manor
We could see something like this for the 2024 coaster if the interviews are accurate and not over hyping what’s to come.
Loving seeing my footage being put to good use.
When I asked them if they had some b-roll I could use this is what they sent me! I think we did the best with it we could :)
Intamin is the best manufacturer, they have it all 🔥
Sure do:) No B&M people allowed in this comment section!
uh oh
Now this is something that's great to see. I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it, and Juvelen really didn't need much fixing. Its very interesting to see this 2.0 version of the ride, it looks like a great update, and I really hope more parks get the 2.0. Especially in North America, or that the Arctic rescue coaster is at least on the more intense side like Juvelen. I guess rides like Wave Breaker gave the North American community the idea that straddlecoasters are tame experiences when they really don't have to be.
Also I hope this means we might see a Juvelen review soon. That would be great to see whenever you have the time.
This would make a really good addition at Legoland Windsor.
And Paultons park
IDK about Legoland Windsor, their audience might be too young for that, but it'd be a perfect fit at Chessington down the road. Or alternatively at Thorpe park as a step up kind of ride.
Drayton manor might be getting one
I've been on i305 and the intensity of Juvelen still blew me away, completely unexpected. The turn at the end of the second launch, I was like WTAF?!?!
Super happy to see one of these coming to Busch Gardens!
2:20 the 'secret weapon'? Alton towers moment? Project horizon?
It's really cool to see Intamin family coasters like these, they are like Vekoma and Mack with these really fun family launch coasters.
Very interesting, I hope we see more of these models in europe
Intamin will soon be back in the U.S. making coasters. These major parks gone have to trust them soon, because this model looks really good! He'll, I could ride it!
epic layout!
Daniel Schoppen is awesome. I've not done Juvelen yet, but Jet Rescue at Seaworld Australia is a pretty good family ride. It pulls some great forces and have a pretty good low to the ground layout with twists and turns. Can't wait for you two to experience it.
I'm getting an ERT on that this summer!
Thank you for always bringing fresh and interesting content!! You truly are among the best creators and you deserve a lot more!!!
This looks extremely fun!
I've experienced that type of tire launch on Objectif Mars at Futuroscope. Although this coaster is not that fast, the launches were still pretty intense compared to the ones on Gerstlauer family launch models such as Pégase Express at Parc Astérix.
The new layout they are introducing looks sick, but I can't look away from the new smoother algorithms are very likely to make the ride feel tamer than the older versions like Juvelen, just like we see with Fønix at Djurs...
My local park is Djurs Sommerland, and I'm so jealous
If Cedar Fair gets back together with Intamin, this would be great as a start ride, not some super big coaster that had a complex system or anything but a reliable family coaster that is smooth and great for families.
I'd love to see Hershey Park to get one like this, if would be an amazing fit
Thats cool
Off topic, but I saw you went to hawaii! My family and i spent a week there in 2019 and it was one of the best experiences ever. Hope you had a great time!
How did you see he went to Hawaii?
@@360coasters after the japan trip i think
This would make a really good addition at PortAventura and Stampida RMC
I have a very strong feeling that this is the coaster model that will probably be used for the How to Train Your Dragon coaster in Epic Universe.
nice video
Canada's Wonderland next ride
Awesome 👍.
I wonder if this is going to be the system Universal is using for the How to Train You Dragon coaster at Epic Universe.
Secret Weapon 👀 Alton Towers confirmed 👀
