  • Hello everyone and welcome to another mechanical DIY tutorial brought to you by THE DIY WORKSHOP channel.
If you also like other kind of DIY projects , make sure you check out the other playlists as well, I am sure you will find them super usefull and they may even help you learn a new trade or simply save up a lot of money.
In this episode we are going to show you how to change the serpentine or accessory belt, the idler pulley and the belt tensioner s pulley on a Mercedes W204 with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine. This also applies to the 1.8 liter. Not sure about other models but you can just take a look under the bonnet and check the configuration.
The basic principle is the same for most cars.
We are going to do it removing the turbocharger air duct because we find it easier especially for a beginner or if you don t have a lot of tools and experience. Also it will be easier for you to see the routing of the belt around all the pulleys.

Thank you for the comment. Be careful when removing the hoses, they are old and may crack if so no rush.
