Absolute Perfection AND yes the way she says 'daughter' along with those glances at the camera, with the most magnificent smile ever would melt the coldest heart.....she is so fine! GBR
Well put. I'm 46. Which I thought was old to discover new music like this. But I guess not :) It's very refreshing to hear the impact she has on someone of your distinguished age. Welcome to the Regina club. She is a wonder. We are witnessing art in the first degree. AND she has a new album coming out!! Have you heard her Lollapalooza live cover of the Beatle song: Real Love? Amazing! And that's only one suggestion. She's endless.
Some ones love is not yours at all: She comes and goes as some one's elses love. She comes and leaves you behind; showing someone else's face And it's colder than yours; .. it's harsher than yours.
@TheHulien absolutely correct... love her live.. a bit dissapointed with the Live in LOndon. only because the too fast camera shots.. never get to see her steady for more than 5 seconds
She was born is Russia. Her parents upon realizing her talent with piano made great sacrifices to send her to America. She was 9. You can definately here her Russian heritage when she speaks. You'll notice in her songs that she's prone to go into fake accents, as part of the song, the NY/Jersey accent of "daughter" un Somedays and the UK pronunciation of "better" in Fidelity are two examples.
I absolutley adore regina spektor but this performance doesnt show off her talent or personality at all, i hope people who are discovering her music for the first time find other videos past this and realise how amazing she is :)
She really is amazing. She actually didn't pick up a New York accent, I've read that she likes to mimic it randomly; perhaps its part of her love or intrigue toward New York.
She's one of the few artists who are actually good Live. Goddamn I hate the crappy artists nowadays who can't do live shows well at all and use heaps of digital crap.
i think that somedays might not have been the best song for her to sing on TV, its one of those songs that you like a lot more once youve been listening to her music for a bit. you have to get her style and be comfortable with her style to get this song. thats why it feels kind of awkward. but she looks really beautiful here.
I would say Soviet Kitsch was her debut on a major record label (Sire), while 11:11 was her self-released debut. I know it doesn't change anything but it's a good reminder for me.
I think your right about her doing accents purposely. But ever so once in awhile with certain words she sings, I think there is a slight russian accent. And I think those are natural.
Her sideways glances and innocent smiles just pretty much melt me every time.
No other female singer seems to match the sophistication of Regina's voice.
That look in her face. She's beautiful and incredible talented.
Regina is like one of the only artists that sounds better live.
wow, this woman is incredible..... mrs. spektor- 'I'm in love with your duwaughtah!'
She has a smile that makes me smile. And they way she says "daughter" makes me melt.
why am I always finding new, beautiful Regina songs? How can one person consistently produce this much quality music?
Absolute Perfection AND yes the way she says 'daughter' along with those glances at the camera, with the most magnificent smile ever would melt the coldest heart.....she is so fine! GBR
Am love her voice and the emotion she put in it ! I can't even explain how wonderful it is even her song
She messed up at the very beginning and she sounded so nervous, but it was -- my god! Absolutely beautiful!! :)
this song is heartbreakingly beautiful, always makes me tear up, yet i listen to it obsessively :) she's incredibly talented
She's so amazing, no artist will ever come close. The day that I get to see her live will be the best day of my life.
i have seen her in a looooooot of videos but definetly she looks more beautyful than ever

She's my favourite artist...doubtless.
She looks and sounds so beautiful
I think she is utterly brilliant with anything she does.
She's such a legend. Seen her live twice. Incredible.
you can't help but love her
She looks and sounds so beautiful in this performance.
The most remarkable woman in the world!
Her Voice And Songs are Beautiful.
J'adore Regina Spektor, et elle a de plus en plus de succès en France !
I love the mischevious face she makes when she says, "I'm in love with your daughter." She's cute.

Regina looks so much younger here.
i love that haircut
I LOVE HER VOICE!!!
Beautiful
i love how she doesn't create an image of herself it's just we all have different and great views of this woman and her music.
"the goddess sings"
Absolutely!
Guash, she is so gorgeous!
i love her...
Shes great love this song :)
beautiful.
the child in my chest sings so loud every song of her ive heard
It's 2005, so, probably yes. She wasn't even very popular at the time, the "begin to hope" album from 2006 actually made her popular
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, it's so beautiful and so is her voice. (:
btw, she looks so pretty in this video
she even messed up omg i love this woman shes s fucking cuteeee. omg i love her
she sounds just as beautiful live
I love the prrrrr... noises she makes- so adorable.

i absolutely love her hair. reminds me of my friend:)
@gogreen2496 I completley agree! You can tell she was nervous but she shouldn't be she has the voice of an angel
her expression right when she finishes is priceless! she is so humble and cute!!! 3:03
REGINAAA!
Every performance is ever so slightly different that it's like hearing a new song each time.
Great Song !!! :*
I always love this performance more than the recording.
no such thing as a bad or even average performance with Regi, they're all great :)
i love the info that the poster put for this video. its so true:)
She looks so pretty here!
I love this song, I learned how to play it... she's amazing :)
:O i didnt expect her to sound this good live
I just want to hug her....:)
Thats true! Ha she is amazing!
Some ones love is not yours at all: She comes and goes as some one's elses love.
She comes and leaves you behind; showing someone else's face And it's colder than yours; .. it's harsher than yours.
@143melrose alot of regina's songs aren't for sale, but rather were just played at concerts or are just demos. But look it up on google
she's so weird i love her
she's so pretty.
@musicalsunite Completamente de acuerdo!!!
I was at that show @ the Roxy!!!
she looks beautiful here
@TheHulien absolutely correct... love her live.. a bit dissapointed with the Live in LOndon. only because the too fast camera shots.. never get to see her steady for more than 5 seconds

I'm in love with yo daoughta!
This song always reminds me that I am only uuman :)
@143melrose it's on Soviet Kitsch
Someone said she had a russian accent, I would never had thought concidering she was raised in NYC...
I find it cute, since regina is all about live performances, plus this was way back in 2005 before she got used to tv appereances, I think.
oxegen 09 here we come!x
shes gonna be epic!x x x x
awe
I absolutley adore regina spektor but this performance doesnt show off her talent or personality at all, i hope people who are discovering her music for the first time find other videos past this and realise how amazing she is :)
I like how she looks at the camera. X3
She really is amazing. She actually didn't pick up a New York accent, I've read that she likes to mimic it randomly; perhaps its part of her love or intrigue toward New York.
i wanna see...interview...thing... aww.
Soviet Kitch was her label debut, generally anything before that doesn't "count"
@Calebdaguy yeah, he had me all confused when i was new to her music
She's one of the few artists who are actually good Live. Goddamn I hate the crappy artists nowadays who can't do live shows well at all and use heaps of digital crap.
so do I, brother... so do I...
I wish she played Us instead. This is good too but Us has to be my all time favourite Regina Song. Oh, and Back of a Truck is up there too.
i think that somedays might not have been the best song for her to sing on TV, its one of those songs that you like a lot more once youve been listening to her music for a bit. you have to get her style and be comfortable with her style to get this song. thats why it feels kind of awkward.
but she looks really beautiful here.
@xEricaAestheticx I feel ya girl, but no need for the attack at the end of that. I'm not bitter. Rock on Regina for sure!
What a shame that you can't.
Reply, complete.
You can tell this was filmed on the Tonight Show. The song is great and she's live but her hair's been sprayed into immobility.
Is their any REginaSPEKTor song you can not love..?
♥
lmao i would thumbs up you a hundred times if i could, friend....
...also if you werent WRONG SHES LOOKING AT MEEE!
Did anyone else catch that she sang the wrong lyrics? She said colder before harsher....but its okay I still love her
Soviet Kitsch wasn't her Debut album yikes... She had Songs and 11:11 before Soviet kitsch.
I would say Soviet Kitsch was her debut on a major record label (Sire), while 11:11 was her self-released debut. I know it doesn't change anything but it's a good reminder for me.
I want her to hold me and sing this song to me while I quietly cry in her arms.
I think your right about her doing accents purposely. But ever so once in awhile with certain words she sings, I think there is a slight russian accent. And I think those are natural.
I'm allowed fifteen days per year. I only really get to use eight or nine of them.
well since it was promoting Soviet Kitsch why would she have promoted an album not recorded yet? . . . .
Yeah, THAT'S what's keeping you and Miss Spektor apart. The fact that you're married. -.-'
Random question: who are the two guys at the beginning who were, i suppose, the interviewee's?
what year did that album come out?
aww she looked kinda nervous but its still really beautiful :)
@Miloshit perfection.
