Hi again! I was really impressed by this Observatory- I wouldn’t know how to get readings from any of the instruments, expect maybe the Sundial. It’s so cool that they used marble and the instruments have been outside and lasted so well over time. You too - have a great day! 👍👍☀️☀️
Hi Joseph! I think the one instrument that we could probably figure out would be the Sundial - I have no idea how to read the others!! Thanks for checking out the videos from India - it’s an amazing country a I’d love to go back for more exploring! Wishing you and Peter a Happy New Year 2025!! 🙌🙌🎆🎆🎆 Jen
What an incredible video showcasing the extraordinary Jantar Mantar Observatory! It is fascinating to see how the vision and engineering brilliance of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II led to all that I am seeing. The world's largest sundial is truly awe-inspiring! Thank you for this dear Jen.🖐L4
It sure was interesting to walk around these very large instruments! About the only one I would recognize was the sun dial- we had fun trying to figure out how to use it. Big thanks for watching!! :) Jen
I was very impressed too! I hadn't heard about this observatory before. It was quite interesting to walk around and see the various instruments- and the stairways used to get a close look. Thanks Vedrana! :) Jen
Interesting look around and a real old observatory as well. Putting those two instruments to get and getting a continuous shape is one feat of engineering. In the UK we only need an umbrella for the rain and never the heat :o), cheers Alan
Hi Alan- this was the first time I used an umbrella for the sun and heat, now I can see why it’s popular in hot climates! When the heat is so oppressive a sun hat seems to make you more hot, not less- this gives you and your shoulders at least a bit of shade! The observatory was really interesting, amazing what they could do so many years ago without modern technology. Thanks 😄☂️☀️🙌🙌
Observatories are always fun to see. This one is quite interesting. The sundials are neat! It's cool they are quite accurate. Love your umbrella. Cute!
The umbrella turned out to be awesome, provided just the right amount of shade when it was so hot- well much hotter than I’m used to in Washington! 😆 I was very impressed with the details and variety of the instruments- and that they’re made from marble! Thanks again, Jen 🇮🇳🧡💚☀️☂️😄
Hi Steven- I tried to leave a comment, please forgive me if it comes out double!! I was wondering if you would know how to read any of these instruments?! We had fun just trying to figure out the sun dial!! :) Cheers, Jen
Good morning, thanks Mekay! I learned a lot on this trip- these instruments are impressive! Have a great weekend, hope you have some sunshine today! ☀☀☀🤗🤗🤗
Hi, Jen. This was an intersting excursion and an early example of people's curiosity about the secrets of the universe. Considering the age of these instruments one cannot but deeply admire the astronomers of the this age. Cheers, Christiane and Werner
What an amazing place!! Mind blowing really! The work that has gone into that is incredible! I’m trying to work out what comparable astronomers in the “West” were doing at that time. That’s one amazing place Jen.
Very interesting and lots of information. Thanks for sharing. Very cool place to visit :) Love the structures shapes and all. Very unique. Take care Jen.
Hi Alex- I don't have a background in astronomy, so I would not know how to use these instruments. I thought the one you could go down into was amazing- a detailed drawing of the night sky on marble! We had fun trying to figure out the Sun dial :) Thanks!!
The instruments are fascinating! I wouldn’t know how to use them, except for the sun dial, 👌😄 I love that they used marble and that it has lasted so long! Big thanks T! 🇮🇳🧡
Hey Dan! Have you heard of any of these instruments before? I had no idea, just the sun dial :) It was fascinating to see them, especially the one that they would go down inside of to make their observations. Science, woohoo!!
Impressive site! Crazy how people have found ways to study the stars and telling time! Marble does last longer, but it must have been expensive to build! Have a great day! Kaat
@@DyanEsoap Hi Dyan- It sure is! I hadn’t heard about it before… so fun to see that huge sundial and the steps set alongside to view the readings. Thanks!! 😁
Thanks Age! I don't know if you know much about astronomy- we have a small telescope and that's about it! I'm impressed at how with careful observation one can learn a lot about the night sky!! (and tell time in the day!!)
Hi Bruce- who would have known?! It would be great if there was a demonstration on how some of these instruments were used- super cool!! Thanks - Jen :)
Wow! this video was not only really interesting but also cosmically 'out of this world'. Thanks for including the contact info for Praveen. If and when I make it to India, the places that he has guided you to see ; is exactly what I would want to see and experience as well.🟡⭐⭐
O yes, out of this world!! We've visited a couple observatories here in the US, where they've got huge telescopes inside with maybe a roof opening. This was amazing to see everything outside, and marble too! I wouldn't know how to use any of them, except maybe we could figure out the sun dial! I hope that you get to visit India- Praveen would really enjoy showing you around. Thanks and woof / hi to Chevy!@!
That place is super awesome. It is amazing how they figure all that stuff out. Impressive. Awesome place to visit! Have a wonderful day.
